"Announcements for big coasters will probably be in September or October."

Actually, Cedar Point announced MF in June.
MF Rules I got this from Jennifer Skuldt investment relations at Cedar Fair,

"We will discuss our 2002 capital plans for each of our parks in announcements sometime this
fall."

"And then you say oh what a lovely tea party."

MFRULES: The MF announcement was on July 22nd, but you were only a month off :). I think so far the announcements have been about right for this time of year. The big ones will come later. I think 1999's announcements threw us a bit out of wack ;).

At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs.
MF almost had to be announced early. Track pieces had been spotted and land clearing was going to begin while the park was still open. I'd imagine it was best to announce it and lay down the ground rules for park guest/enthusiasts rather than have everyone snooping around, going places they shouldn't be, or bugging employees about what's going on.

I read something about an Intamin sitdown with 10 inversions, That sounds exciting some what.
thats Atlantis, its actually quite a gimmick, its going to have 4 barrel rolls in a roll, WOW!

Please don't open that can of worms. An inversion is an inversion, no matter how many there are or where they're placed on the ride. We've had that debate before.

im hoping that mm will get a nice hyper woddie, that is what the rumor has been. *** This post was edited by lims[suck] on 8/11/2001. ***
I have a feeling thats wooden loopings, wooden hypers, and gigas will be in more and more parks. Maybe for the 2003 or 2004 season though. But rumors are pointing that European parks are getting a giga and another is looking for a 400 ft. coaster. We'll just have to wait for official announcements.

I think it's going to be like a dominos effect. Once one major announcement comes they're all going to come. :)

I think that we will have an announcement soon from SFDL. I have heard that A Deja Vu Clone or an X clone is to be built at Sfdl. Not to mention that the water park has been totally dismantled .

"But we have about 3 Deja Vu's that will be ready by about 2002 so....j/k

There's nothing to kid about here, since it will most likeley happen. If SFOG says that theirs might be ready in October, then we can surley expect later opening dates for the other

"Thank you for challenging the Raging Bull. We hope you enjoy the rest of you're day, here at Six Flags Great America."
Im gonna laugh if PKIs TR:TR turns out to be a great ride better than most coasters (most is the word there) :)
Any park with a boomerang will NOT get a Deja Vu.
Isnt Vertigo at CP a 2001 announcement? Personally, i dont think SFWOA or SFMM should get anything, and Six Flags should concentrate on the smaller parks in the chain. (SFAW, SFDL, SFKK, SFEG)but that is just me. and Six Flags cant just keep spending. They are already in debt by 2 billion dollars. *** This post was edited by coasterguy1 on 8/11/2001. ***
Why wouldn't they keep spending the money on SFWoA and SFMM? If those are the parks that make money, then those parks are naturally going to get more attractions. Besides, they're in big markets... you don't get much bigger than L.A., and Cleveland's up there as well.

Thank you for a much needed reality check. Very nice!

Heh heh, I Lurve this Americans V rest of world stuff, Dan, DWeaver, fighting my cause....

Truth of the matter is we're really envious of your side of the pond, just look at all the fantastic rides there are over there. But there are many American readers here that mouth off opinions that have little thought behind them- (Vekoma are crap, 2002 announcements boring!)These people take many things for granted, and that disgusts me-spoilt little brats!

There are threads-like this one stating park announcements are boring!! You should be excited there's any announcements at all. My home park, Alton Towers, introduces 1 coaster every 4 years.

However, as we're so nice and chilled out,(goto Amsterdam and eat cake before visiting De Efteling!!), we'll do our best to host you next year when the spotlight is on European rides, 1 complaint and your going home though!!

Do not take the above, or yourselves too seriously!
Regards Col.
