Is it just me are does anyone else feel that the announcements from parks for 2002 have have been boring so far. A motion simulator, a wild mouse ride, an interactive water coaster, and Vertigo at Knott's and CP. If there's anymore I can't think of them right know but to me nothing has been exciting so far as the ride annoucements for 2002. Does anyone else feel this way.
Yep, where are the big coasters?

im almost positive that SFWoA will wait to know when to announce once CP announces theirs. They probably want to know if theirs will be bigger than CP, if it is SFWoA will probably announce a week after, if not probably a month. I cant wait for both CP and SFWoA's announcements this year.

HurricaneGeauga- Just in case
Announcements for big coasters will probably be in September or October.
But we have about 3 Deja Vu's that will be ready by about 2002 so....j/k

You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.
Most of the BIG annoucements are coming this fall. Just wait until CP, KBF, SWOA, MA and SFMM announce their plans for next year. It will be anything but boring. Besides, who can say they have ridden all the coasters from 1999-2001 yet.

This is very humorous. Last year, everybody was diappointed with the 2001 announcements at right around this time. Then we got X-Flight, Talon, X, Deja Vu, Acrophobia, Batwing, V2, Titan, and more. The announcements will come, just be patient.

If it wren't for Fright Fest I wouldn't think SFOG and SFGA's versions would even bother trying to open them. I think SFMM's will open though, the year ends Dec 31, It's Aug 11 today and the ride is starting to test agian. So hopefully they will be open. I am almost possitive SFMM won't get anything real huge because of Six Flags Money problems and the fact that they will have just opned X and Dejavu, but SFMM never usees delayed openining as a reason not to announce a new ride for the next year. It happend when S:TE opened in 1997 when it was proposed to open in 96, then Riddler's Revenge came so there is hope, and they might want to show CP that they are serious about keeping the record and can outspend anyone:)

You see the problem here is that you are probably all Americans, and you think the coaster industry revolves around you. For instance, did you ever consider that the companies might actually build their rides in the countries which they are actually based in??
New rides for Europe 2002:
Air - B&M Flying Coaster
Odyssey - 265ft Vekoma SLC
Atlantis - Intamin 10-Inversion Coaster
Silver Star - 240ft B&M Speed Coaster
Unnamed - Intamin Giga Coaster (Heide Park/by Werner Stengel; hasnt got planning permission as of yet)
Superman - B&M Mega Looper/Hyper (It has airtime hills)
400ft lsm 'coaster' for Blackpool Pleasure Beach (The owner has stated that he wants one that height)
And that's just 2002 - not many clones of existing rides there.
In 2003, Thorpe Park are getting a launched B&M Inverted Coaster.
Lastly, these cant be dismissed as rumours, unless you want to say that both the European Coaster Club and RCCGB are lying, which they are not.
So, the UK and Europe CAN have a turn at being the coaster industries playground for a change.

SFMM 4ever,who's getting a motion simulator, and where did you hear that Knott's and CP's getting the Vertigo's??????
I think 2002 is going to be a great year.:)
Personally, KI disappointed me a little, but what park can continue to add coasters every year? SFWofA may add a new hyper and that is always a good thing. However, and I may be way off, I don't think CedarPoint is coming out with anything. I was there about two weeks ago, and I saw no construction activity. Zero. Unless they build on the parking lot, there is no clearing of trees, buildings, or other rides to make room. I would LOVE them to get a new coaster. I would prefer a major floorless to shut up SFWoA. Plus, I love the floorless coasters. I just do no think that they are going to do anything this year.

Okay, is it me, or have there been quite a few statements dissing Americans lately. My biggest peeve is stereotypical people.
There is a girl staying at my house from Germany right now, and she acts disgusted towards overweight people(namely Americans). Like they are a lower form of life, without getting to know their personalities. Let me tell you, I can't wait for her to go back to Europe in a week, and not have to worry about what she thought of us.
Don't stereotype people!

Heck No! When I told my friends King's Dominion was getting a Wild Mouse they were all excited. The line is HUGE for the Wilde Maus @ BGW! I am happy to have another coaster next year! Mabey it will keep down the lines for Hypersonic;)

I don't remember who is getting a motion simulator but it has something to do with Alcatraz, and VertiGo is the same ride that SFMM just opened, the thrill shot ride.
Six Flags Great Adventure is getting the sim. Cedar Fair will make the announcements for capital expansions for all of their parks this fall. That means KBF, CP, VF, and WoF announcement will all come right around the same time, if not at the same time.
