painful rollercoaster

Iron wolf at sfgam
To Date: The Predator at Six Flags Darien Lake...

Maybe they'll smoothen it out this season. Maybe they improved it later on last season, I don't know... but 2yrs ago, that was one of the roughest experiences I had with that ride no matter what part of the train you are in!!!

LIfe is something that happens when you can't get to sleep.

I noticed a few posts above there was a mention that Canyon Blaster was rough. I assume that is the Canyon Blaster at Circus Circus' Adventuredome. In my humble opinion, I believe Canyon Blaster is one of Arrow's smoother rides. The drop into the two loops is just right, the jolt of airtime before the corkscrews is not violent, and the corkscrew section I found to be quite smooth. On my last visit there, I rode 3 times in a row and found the fornt, back, and middle to all be quite comfortable. Now, the coaster over at New York New York, the TOGO-built Manhattan Express, that is a painful ride.

I would have to say Flight of Fear at PKI, Mean Streak, King Cobra. Flight of Fear gave me a headache all morning long. It was my first and second rides of the day.

Hurricane:Catagory Five- The Beast In The East
I live near SFGAdv and go there often. One of my faves is B&R:The Chiller but I smashed the right side of my jaw on the harness and now have serious TMJ :( but I still go on it. Have to try the suggestion someone made of pressing your head against the left side of the harness. I've learned that the more forward seats don't have as much headbanging. Won't go on Viper anymore. Hate it...too rough. GASM is fun but has a few rough sections. Aaah Medusa...nothing gets hurt!
Psyclone at SFMM. OUCH!!!!

Oooooh, my freekin' head.... Too many G's Too many G's! No, no, Too much Beer before the G's!
Face/Off at Paramounts Kings Island was the one that hurt me the most, my neck was sore the entire day
The only painfull roller coaster is the one you see being built and can't ride it yet.

Army rangers lead the way
I'm sorry, but Magic Mountain's The Revolution was particully painfull this last year.
Shockwave at SFGA,, I have blacked out too,, right after the first loop, and before it goes through the pretzel, when it brakes, that turn makes you fly into the other seat!
Valleyfair's Corkscrew and Excalibur hurt bad...

FOF at PKI...OUCH!

Premier rides seems to have a special talent for building head bangers. Outer Limits at PKI is bad, though for some reason Outer Limits at PKD while not good isn't as bad. Joker's Jinx at SF America really does a job on your head, but the worst is the Robin side of Balman and Robin at SF Great Adventure. Not only did it pound my head, but one poor girl who had failed to remove her earrings per the warnig signs was bleeding from the pounding she received.
For one how in the hail can Psyclone at SFMM be a headbanger there is no OTSR only lap bars.

For two it's moving way to slow, so it's can't possibly be throwing you around it bearly makes it around it's turn arounds.

Psyclone is a really bummpy ride but I think it's very slow speed intensifys the roughness. SFMM has done a very nice re-tracking of Psyclone, so hopefully it want be the old slow moving, felt like it was riding on square wheels , wooden rollercoaster that it once was.

Now I am so tired of people always saying that Viper at SFMM has a lot of headbanging it's BS.
Everytime i've ridden Viper it's been great and I've been riding it since it's opening.

I think people are just putting all arrow coasters in the same catorgory without even riding most of them. I think most people make the mistake of putting their hands up on Viper and that's a big mistake, With a coaster of that high power and intensity you have no choice but to brace yourself.

Anyway I think most of you people are just talking out of your heads b/c I don't see what your going to bang your head on if there is not even any OTSR's on a coaster like most wooden ones mentioned.

"I haven't been on to many coasters but the roughest ive ridden is the mind eraser at SFNE, its a vekoma SLC. Major head banging."

I agree with spider. Also in the same park, Flashback (boomerang coaster) never fails to give me a headache

Iron Wolf just last year, they really put on the brakes or something. Seemed a lot rougher.

Opening day for new coasters, Gurnee Illinois, "I'm sprinting for V2"
At SFGAm, Shockwave is really ruough on the head! I did it once, and don't plan on doing it again! Runners up are Demon and American Eagle, although they aren't too bad.

I reccommend sitting in front on Shockwave, it doesn't hurt AT ALL. Plus you get a great view in front.
