painful coaster experience

Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else before?

A couple of years ago when riding a large wooden coaster this occured. When the train hit the bottom of the first hill, I felt what I can only describe as a sudden burst of pain in the top of my head. Throughout the rest of the ride, I felt as though I was going to pass out. The rest of the day I had an incredible headache and felt 'foggy'. This has never happened to me since. I can only assume that the coaster gave me a concussion.

Have any of you ever had a similar experience riding coasters?

I'm not sure which was worse, but I'm certain it was a togo!

Actually, it was Mean Streak at CP.

I still have a headache from the media days for Mr Freeze and FOF.

1. I have a headache.
2. It could be a tumor...

Yes, I got a similar pain at the base of Rebel Yell's forward turnaround at PKD.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
A friend of mine broke two ribs on Mean Streak. Is was, to some extent, his own fault though.

The most surprising thing about the incident was the attitude of the CP staff. When I explained what happened at the first aid station, the employees were indifferent at best. They handed me a couple of tylenol and hurried me along to 'enjoy the rest of my day...'

My apinful coaster experience happened when I was on Goliath and when we hit the break run my head flew straight into the seat in front of me. I had one the worst headaches I ever had after that and me vision was a little messed up. Every since then when I ride Goliath and we hit the final break run, I always but my hands up against the seat in front of me.
I found Space Mountain at DisneyLand to be quite painful. I kept getting thrown from side to side, it seemed.

I HATE SNOW!!! I am boycotting snow, I refuse to have fun in it.

Big Thunder Railroad at The Magic Kingdom, and Shockwave at Six Flags Great America.

On Hercules on the turnaround over the water, I hit almost everything on my body on the car. Also, I almost passed out. Luckily, I got some fresh air on Steel Force and felt all better!

Advance to "Roller Coaster". Do not pass go and do not collect 200 dollars.

Well, this doesn't really compare to any of these stories but a ride on Twister II never helps your body much.

Revolution, and Flashback at SFMM. Psyclone used to be, but its now at the point of just being boring
I smacked my elbow off the side of Mean Streak when we came into the brake run and it was num for the rest of the ride. Also on Batman the ride I had been joking around hitting my brother in the head all day with my empty water bottle, so on the way down the first drop I attempted to tap him on the head with it and ended up killing my shoulder as we went through the loop somehow.

The way Mean Streak shakes and vibrates during the last section and going back toward the station, I always have this squeezing feeling in my lungs and can't breathe. I think that's one coaster I don't mind if I ever get to ride again. I would rather spend my entire day at CP on the train that on MS. Less boring and less painful to me personally. I would give it another chance if this hadn't happened two ro three times already.

I don't think I've felt any horrible pain on any other coaster. Maybe you just had a torn blood vessel Jim? If it wasn't too severe, I think they can heal themselves eventually, but I would still see a doctor if it happened again, just to make sure everything's ok.

The same thing happned to me when I rode it and it was not fun. That is the worst curve on any coaster. If it was retrack or something it wouldn't be a half bad ride IMO.

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

both times ive suffered on Rotting Lumber at SFGadv....they have single handedly topped any painful moment on any coaster.....no lie ive also had some nasty "groin" confrontations on Shockwave at PKD...and for some twisted reason, i LOVE shockwave...go figure...perhaps im the last TOGO fan left on this earth

Tim (who is hoping very much that Viper will reopen at SFGAdv...let the flaming begin!!!

Most painful was surprsingly SFGAdv last year on Great AMerican Scream Machine (one of the old Arrow 7 loopers). The train was so rough, the shoulder harnesses clipped me under the chin from the first drop onwards. It's usually a bit rough, but this was bad.

Behind this was Viper (yes, I'm talking to you above! :) ). The shoulder harnesses are very hard and after four consecutive rides, my shoulders were very sore. The ride itself is good, but those harnesses suck.

Roling Thunder needs to get rid of those stupid seat dividers and take better care of the track. It's rough at points, but when you can't sit properly in the seat, it is not a very pleasant ride.
