"One More Ride"--where has it worked for you?

Where have some of you succeeded in "earning" a bonus ride on a coaster with the help of other enthusiastic riders and operators at the end of the day? This would be strictly as a GP rider on a regular operating day, not part of ERT or any other park/coaster club sponsored event.

For me, our train succeeded in "One More Ride" on two occasions: GhostRider at Knott's in September 1999, and Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce last month.

Operation Wicked Twister - Goal: Lose 50 lbs by next season to ride it! (updates soon)

Excalibur at Funtown Splashtown USA in ME - got us 3 extra rides that night. The ride op was really cool that night...

Um... the kiddie coaster at Americana.

I always hope that the train will accidentally overshoot the brakes and they'll have no choice but to send us around again. ;)

He let the contents of the bottle do the thinking; can't shake the devil's hand and say you're only kidding.

You may be wondering why, but I successfully completed this feat at SFWoA on Serial Thriller for two extra laps. It's a great ride in the dark :)

V:TBC....four consecutive rides ended a GREAT 4-hour evening at PKD in an awesome fashion....and the gift shop outside the ride has the credit card receipt to prove it...;).
Rollergator, Was that this past Sunday? If so, I was 2 trains in front of you.

I wish....nah, it was the beginning of August, mid-week, when work took us to DC....bummer...;). Got PKD, Dutch Wonderland for Sky Princess (cool surprise meeting joey isch there), and finished up with Hershey...three great parks, all fantastic employees, and Comet proved to be the Schmeck worthy of #200...:)
I have gotten "one more ride" on SOB at PKI and Magnum at CP. Both rides were great.

I have got "one more ride" on Grizzly @ PKD. We got on the ride at exactly 10:00pm and they let us go around again afterwards! PKD is really good about that.
A couple of months ago, I tried that on Millenium Force. Me and a bunch of other people come into the unloading station shouting "one more time". The ride operator goes, "You want one more ride?" At that point the whole train explodes in shouting. Then the operator goes "Well, maybe some other time." Man, I really thought I was going to get another lap. Oh well.

I've had success at getting rerides on S:ROS at SFA at least twice so far this season.

In both instances we were supposed to be the final train of the night but after some persistent cheering for "one more ride" by the entire train the ride ops were gracious enough to send us around for yet another airtime filled lap into the night, last time it was around 10:30pm before we actually got off the coaster & out of the park.

I got a re-ride on GASM at SFGAdv early in the morning. I could have gotten a re-re-ride but my head was already reduced to one giant headache.

Life's to short to be serious

You know, being a ride op I have two sides to this topic.

First when someone is generally and entusiast and is nice about it, then fine...one more ride (as long as park policy) permits.

On the other hand if they are yelling at you and refusing to get off the ride then no. I'm sorry but getting in trouble for sending you around again is not worth it.

It worked for me quite frequently during the 80s and early 90s at SFGam... on Shockwave, Tidal Wave, and American Eagle (Red). Haven't tried recently.

The ride-ops on American Eagle were so enthusiastic that we managed to get 2 bonus rides at the end of the day.

:-)

Or else the RideOp pushes a wrong button and has no choice. (Thunder Run at SFKK) He was really mad and cursing, then told us he had to send us around again. The people on the ride yelled YES!, but the people in the station yelled NO! It was really funny.
