On-ride photos that "vanished"

The first one was Magnum XL-200 I worked the photo booth last year. And as far as I can tell for at least the past 2 years Magnum Hot Shots has been working for the entire summers.

Well! I have a fondness towards On Ride Photos... I Can't seem to pass on them.  Vortex at Paramount Canada's Wonderland had an onride photo at the bottom of the first drop. The on ride booth was just at the end of the exit ramp. In 1997 the on ride photo (Black & White) was moved to the Mighty Canadian Minebuster. Vortex's photo booth was turned into a row of three Coke Machines.

Some people said Hercules doesn't have one anymore but I went in the beginning of the season and if was working.
well unless it was installed after Magnum's camera, Shockwave @ SFGA was the first.  SW opened in 88 so if it always had its camera then that beats Magnum.  as for Batman, I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to have the pic booth so far from the exit.  I didn't even know it was there until the year the cameras were gone.  I always saw the strobes and the camera equipment, but I was never able to find the booth so I never got a pic.  oh well.

Adventuredome had on-ride photos for the Circus Carousel and Inverter that disappeared. It wasn't because of a lack of profit, but because the company when out of business. This happed at the end of summer 2000. Now they use thier own equiptment for Canyon Blaster and Rim Runner photos, which arent very good.

rOLLocOASt, It was Magnum and it was in 1991 or 1992(early 90s). Mean Streak was the first roller coaster to recieve a more advance on ride photo system.

About the Adventure Express photos, I recall pictures being taken, right after the drop out of the station by the brakes before the next little drop, but i do know that it was removed prior to the 1999 operating season.

AT SFGAm, American Eagle still does have on ride photos. The picture used to be taken at the bottom of the 1st drop up until the end of 1997. After 1997, the picture has been taken on the last hill before the final helix....shoulda kept it at the bottom of the drop...glad i have an on ride from back when it was like that! =)

Hercules's photo booth was closed entirely last season, as told by the ride ops (I asked every time i was there, adn they all said the same). Even though the eqipment/camera is still there, Hercules just isn't too popular anymore. I'm guessing thats why they did'nt open it this season.

How much more floorless can they get?
darn, you beat me to it B&M Rocks. But I think it was working one day in 2001. I know this because it was the day Fast Lane was introduced. What a crappy day. It was really cool walking up the exit of the Cyclone. The On-Ride Photos were on that day. I remember that was the only time that I used it except for another time later that summer.

My friend and I were waiting for the Mind Eraser and we found 4 fastlane tickets sitting on a hand-rail. They were due in like 5 mins. so we hopped out of line and ran all the way there. Since the ride ops there are lazy bums they didn't check for handstamps and we got right on. It was definatly awesome.

That's crazy about Adventure Expres guys.  I have absolutely NO memory of that! (Not accusing you of lying, just surprised I can't remember!)

Sorry guys I was thinking of 2000 season when Hercules photo was open in the beginning. Guess I'm lucky to have a photo from it.

Also when I visited SFWOA last season iun August Serial Thriller's photo was working.

The camera for Adventure Express was located on the left side of the track, right before the dip and turn into the first tunnel.  The photo booth was where the "Kings Island Raceway" remote control cars are.

I`ve ridden Son of Beast 67 times!
At SFDL both Predator and Mind Eraser used to have On Ride Photos.  The booth for Mind Eraser is now a haven for grafitti sadly.
All I need is my picture with the Mystic Fountain at IOA. No other pictures matter.

Adventure Express stopped on-ride photos a couple years ago, but there's still more than enough on-rides to choose from at PKI: SOB, The Beast, Beastie, Face/Off, FOF, Vortex, WTRA,...

I've been told that beginning this year, Face/Off won't have one. I remember FOF didn't have one last year, or maybe the year before, but will this year.

Viper at SFDL used to have one as well as Mind Eraser and Predator but I haven't seen the booth open in years. The only ride in that park now with a photo is S:RoS.

A lot of people have gone back and forth with Hercules at Dorney Park. Lets settle it, the photo booth at Hercules is now definitely gone.

But then again, what do I know?

Vortex (stand up) at Paramount Carowinds. For one thing, the pictures were B&W as opposed to all the other ones in the park that were in color. On top of that, the quality was pretty poor.
