On ride Music

Yes, I meant Primeval Whirl...thanks for the correction ;)
You're right about the California Screamin' thing - the speaker system wasn't working properly the day I was there.

Mystery Castle at Phantasia land has a good soundtrack.. surprisingly ending up with Jurrasic Park 3 as you finish up the drop....
Wow... *that's* what the Cali' Screamin' music is supposed to be like!

It was either too quiet, out of sync, or too much not working for each of my four rides on it last year.

One I almost forgot about is Euro Mir. It has a very cool soundtrack as you are going up the over two-minute spiral lift hill.

The problem with on-ride music on the cars is that it breaks down very often. VERY. RnR is the only one to keep the music up more than a few months since it's part of the ride. I think any themed ride with an on-ride soundtrack makes it better, but adding it to a non-themed coaster is just odd.

Am I the only one that still gets hyped up when hearing "Ready To Go" by Republica right before launching on Dragster? :-D

I do love the song. :-)

Wow. That on-ride video just reminded me of how extraordinarily dull California Screamin was.
I can't remember if they had the soundtrack working yet when I rode, but based on that video, It's about the only thing giving the slightest bit of anticipation to the ride. The slowdown as you top the 'lift' actually makes you think the drop is going to be fun.
Yawn. I prefer Gadget's Go Coaster (Just because Gadget's hot)

Oh, as for the cost of adding sound to trains themselves, I know disney's method is extremely expensive, as it involves sensors that use the car's location to play specific cues. Otherwise, as in the above example at the top of the lift, the differences in how fast the trains navigated the course would prevent synchronizing specific musical effects with specific ride moments. The synchornizing of sound and experience is key to completing the emotional response Disney's looking for in using music in the first place. This is also why Space Mountain's sound system was so often down... it was very complicated. *** Edited 12/13/2004 9:12:24 PM UTC by ThemeDesigner***

Coasterqueen, I too love "Ready To Go" on TTD. Especially now in the winter, there's some times where I'll be sitting here kinda bored, and I'll play the song a couple times and picture dragster. :D
