I think it looks too small!
The top height looks only a little taller than M.F, and the overall layout is pretty simplistic. I'm a little disappointed.
Some of you people are expecting less?!? C'mon... this is Cedar Point! I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this is the layout. If it is, I'm all for it, and kudos because it's still an exciting ride... it's just no 5000' in length. I was kind of hoping for a few turns here and there before it reached the breaks a la Superman at Six Flags New England, but then that's just greedy ;) !!
This is still a very, very realistic idea and fits the fact why they cleared out a lotta trees by Iron Dragon, because it goes onto the island just as that....
What I AM disappointed in is that it doesn't seem to criss cross Millennium Force at all, and that would have been the cherry on the ice cream!!
Okay, first, where is this picture? Where did it comefrom? As far as can tell, it's not even pretending to be a true picture of the new ride, as there's nothing like "CP's new coaster!" emblazoned on it at the bottom or something, whether by the park itself or by someone prentding to know. Until we actually know something about this this picture, there's absoloutly no reason to believe it.
That being said, I actually think the real thing will look something like this. I don't buy the launch-tophat-brakes theory. It just doesn't seem like CP to me. I think there will be a bit more to it than that (didn't I hear a rumor at some point about some mysterious footers being poured on Millennium Force Island when MF was built?). But at 100 mph (or whatever insane speed this thing will go at), it will seem short, thus justifying Jeff's assuances of diapointment.
Frankly, I couldn't care less. Batman: The Ride is the best coaster at SFGAm, and Millenium Force is almost my favorite coaster, period. Short but intense (and there's no doubt that this thing will be intense) can be a good combination.

If that layout has a tophat over 420 feet, the length for that coaster in the photo is well over 6,000 feet long. I wouldn't count on the layout being anywhere NEAR that long...
This is simply someone wanting the coaster to look like that and drew it. Now, if the photo was similar to other Cedar Fair announced coaster renderings it might be believable. But this is basically someone's sketch out of a sketchpad.

People, Jeff doesn't have to post a commment in every thread.
I tihnk it's funny because it says that this is an ARTIST'S RENDITION of the layout. He never said this was the real layout. Very cool idea though.
Hey, you can't blame a guy for dreaming.
In my dreams the CP 2003 thrill ride would have a launch, the 400+ foot tophat and a single 289-foot vertical loop before the brakes
Then even if sombody got an 700-foot Arrow, it would still be the world's tallest, fastest looping coaster...the world's first giga-looper blah blah blah.
I've never seen so many people take an obvious pencil drawing so personally. Wow.

Fake. It's too long. Too much track. Don't humor the person who did it.
