OMFG I'm going to Cedar Point!

That does not look that long. And the layout is plausible but doubtful. A lot of things about it do make sense.

For instance the brake run begins after a hill. Makes sense as you would not hit the brakes at such an extreme speed. Also the overbank behind the main tower makes sense as the tower just seems like it is made to have more then the top hat on it.

I don't think it's real but like I said it's plausible. the artist obviously did their homework. Looks a lot like a cross between Xcelerator and Expedition Ge Force.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

It's either exactly like that or an Xcelerator layout. None other...

lol...what's the best way of watching this thread?

Watching the General Buzz forum and hitting reload about every few minutes and see how the number of replies grow! hehe

BTW, real or not, that would be excellent!

According to the general public, lots of coasters go straight down.

Even if this is true, at 100 + MPH the ride will be short time wise.

Nonetheless, if this is true, it will be one hell of a ride!

I could've drawn that.....I'll bet anything it's fake.

i wouldnt go that far... that does appear to be your typical artist's concept drawing as seen on a park map or in promotional materials. it's very well thought out and while i'm sure you could draw that with enough tries.... it looks rather professional... and feasible.

lets keep in mind people, while the ride will be short, it will not dissipate 100+mph in the brakes (S:TE was and probably will forever be the one exception to this.... it was built just to get the 100mph crown). there will be more to the ride than the top hat. this much more? hard to say.

EDIT: another thing to note is that the support structure we've seen go up is VERY consistent with the one in the drawing.... all of the horizontal beams extend from the correct points on the drawing.

and if that drawing of the triangular support is correct, its about half as tall now as it will be when completed. however, this could all be fake still.

My two cents...

I think this looks great and is certainly conceivable. BUT, it is definitely an "artists interpretation." This can be assumed by the supports extending most of the way to the top of the top hat. We all know the structure does not need to extend that high to support the track, a la Xcelerator.
However this does not mean that it is not possible. The artist could be someone that has inside information about the general layout, and just drew a picture from the information he knows.
Who could this person be? A son or daughter of a construction worker, a park employee that got some inside scoop, maybe just some kid with a good imagination.
In summery, I feel this is the most tangible and most credible vision of what is coming to Cedar Point next season.

Settle down kids, you're going to pee your pants! Does this photo come with an official press release with the official Cedar Point logo, and official stats with an official name for the ride?

Didn't think so. Move on....

Looks very cool. Weather it is real or not, I doubt it, I mean, no drawings have been released. I actually did my own drawing of what I think it will be like in my drawing book, so it's just one more vision. Any how, yes the time, not necessarily length will be short, but I expect more than a top hat and breaks. They will max out what they can do in the space given. Anyway, i'm just going to wait for the announcement, for what I truly belive. For now, this is all just entertainment!

Hopefully this is the layout because it look pretty amazing. But if its not I'm sure it will still be great. Xcelerators launch is worth the trip from Oregon alone. Another reason for me to get back to the Point.

84 coasters and counting

The drawing does have 5 car trains, which seems very un-CP like, with their emphasis on capacity. For whatever that's worth...

A rollercoaster? What's that?

I'd love to see this pop up at Cedar Point, but until announcements, all I'll believe is that it's a rocket coaster that will top 100 m.p.h. If this happened to be the layout, then maybe plans for that summer home in Ohio will be sped up, but until then...

We can always hope though. :)

Man! I just can't stop looking at this thing. I need a time machine so that I can fast-forward to May.

Where will the on-ride photo be?

And even if he was, do you think he'd outright confirm it? The announcement can't be that far off... :)

Well, I know for a fact that no date for announcements has been set, as of last monday, take my word.

I was just thinking the same thing Bull. Maybe no message from Jeff means more than getting one. If this is real or close to the real thing, he would not be aloud to tell us and he would not lie and tell us that it was not the plan.
