Old Queue Lines

Am I having a bad memory lapse, or did I read somewhere (as in a response to a thread where I mentioned the old Coal Shaker) that it is not in storage... and even if it was it probably would not make an appearance because of its age and the problems of finding parts.

I could be wrong... but I thought is what I heard / read.

[P]art of the problem with Comet is that it takes so damn long to load... You've got the seat dividers... seat belts ... and finally the lap bars.

Makes me appreciate the operations on Knoebels Phoenix even more... Seat divider and buzz bar. Train pulls in, bar is raised, unloading riders climb out as loading passengers climb in, buzz is heard and bars are pulled down and locked and quickly checked and the train is on its way again. I swear it takes little more than a minute.

I think a good use of Queue line management is SFFT's Superman. The line is someimte all the way filled... tucked behind a building, not in the way. Short, yet long enough. Switchbacks. Perfect if you ask me.
^Plus when there is no line you can duck under a rope (Im 6'3" and could do it) out of the exit lane and into the queue and skip walking around the building :).

On Kingda Ka's Queue: Wasn't that section originally used, but blocked off for safety reasons after the accident?

On Queues in general: GAdv had progressively trimmed down the Viper queue prior to its removal. I remember waiting in long lines the year it debuted, and the last it was open there were barely any queues (not to mention the ride itself walk-on ;) ). Also, Dorney trimmed the queue for TCM quite a bit since the days of my childhood when I'd wait almost 2 hours with my parents. Before Herc was removed, there was a lot more queue space in '89 when it opened than in '03 when it closed.
