The original RCT wasn't exactly a management challenge either, as I'm discovering in the mobile reissue. But yeah, the fact that a properly blocked ride, even if it's just the standby block outside the station, tanks the ratings is pretty stupid. Then add to that the fact that some scenarios require high ratings to win, and it's just irritating.
I enjoy the creation aspect, but what I really like is building something, and then "riding" it with the intention of understanding if I built a realistic ride that would be fun in real life. It's a very visible thing on wood coasters, maybe because of the floors and supports, and also when you have a lot of scenery or terrain.
Anyone notice the strangely missing Arrow susoended?

I'm. Hoping subsequent updates will add every major coast type.
At this point I think I'm gonna try to see how fast I can bust out career mode just to try to get something for my money.
And just because, here's the woodie from my last post: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=839802938
For those without the game:
And I know you're telling me I'll eventually hit the wall on the scenarios (and I get that the first ones are more tutorial than anything), but seriously? Meeting all three levels of objectives in one month of game time on those easy Captain Lockjaw levels.
Trust me, they get harder, and some I'm convinced are impossible.

The images/videos posted here are pretty amazing. Show a lot of skill, time and effort. And PoVs would make parks jealous several years ago in terms of ride announcements. Tech is definitely cool.
I think ride rankings are silly because of the subjectivity involved. But talking about them for a simulation program takes it to a whole 'nother level of "who cares?" LOL

It's not rankings, it's ratings. It's the in-game quantification of a ride's qualities as seen by the peeps.
It passed the game's collision detection.
Not sure if it's the camera position on the POV or what.
So I had to go back and check that clearance from the 3rd person camera. I suppose it's technically clear. Pretty hilarious:
"Please keep hands and arms inside the car at all times, and do not move head laterally more than 3 millimeters until the train has completely engaged the lift chain."
I dunno. They're more into pitching riders from their seats, not so much making them a part of the seat.
Didn't want to make another thread just to share the crazy stuff I'm seeing people do, but I know a bunch of you are Star Wars nerds. Again, knowing how the game works make me just look at these and shake my head. Truly insane. The patience and devotion is there on a level that I can't even imagine.
I take it there's some way to add custom objects to the game, right? Because that stuff isn't all in there today.

It's in the workshop, so I'm assuming it's created entirely with available pieces. I'm not seeing any mention anywhere of custom content. The comments under the video say it took over 100 hours.
If you download it, is it all there? I'm thinking it will be and this is just really insane use of what's in the game.
There are no custom objects. Users are making everything you see in these videos using the basic set of objects that come standard with the game. The creativity (and time) is staggering.
The Star Wars ride caught the eye of The Verge...
