Official Patch

I had 2 nice gateways in the past, and most recently built my own system:

Pentium 4 1.5GHz w/ Epox 4G4A 400MHz FSB board

1024 MB DDR RAM

Leadtek Geforce 4 Ti-4200 128MB

and Various other goodies...RCT2 runs wonderfully!

The only bug I ran into so far was when I opened a Giga I built the game froze. I think it may be my OS which is ME. I don't think it's my machine:

Dell 1.2 Mhz, P4, 512 ram, 32MB Geforce MX graphics card

I am running RCT II on an 'off-the-shelf' Gateway at the moment, its actually an August 1999 model and its running fantastic. The only issue I have found with the game is that it causes me to get less sleep at night. I'm pretty sure thats a user issue though.

No Dave, that's something that you can actually fix. Go into your BIOS and there should be a box to check entitled "Allow user to get more sleep at night". My computer doesn't have that screen, so I ended up trying to change a bunch of jumpers. No luck.

Brian, who even when he has to sell out and make all his rides free to get people to stay in the park to make a scenario deadline, still plays the game until he pays his way out of debt.

Getting a B&M will always beat out having to take a BM.

I have had a Gateway desktop and I currently use a Gateway Solo 5300. Both computers have been great pieces of equipment. They are both fast machines and built extremely well. I am not just talking about hardware either. The case designs are like battle tanks. I have dropped my laptop a few times and I have punched the screen a few times (I am your typical computer user :) ) and both times I have seen not one problem as a result. The other good thing about Gateway is the trade-in plan they have. Keep a computer for 2 years and trade it in towards the purchase of a new one. Granted, it does not pay for everything but it does deter some of the cost and you would have to pay to upgrade anyway. Plus, if you build your own PC, who do you contact with problems? How much software is included? Are there warranties?
