The lift hill sounds have changed (two different noises -- one for the larger coasters, and one for the wild-mouse style rides), the sounds the trains make while tracking are different, the drive wheels make more realistic noises now, and the list goes on...
PhantomTails, I don't notice the sounds because they're the first thing I turn off. In fact, before now, they've always been off. I usually listen to music while building and I switch from the editor to the sim so often that I just turn them off.

If the NL peeps are listening....why is the piece of land so small? I thought there weren't supposed to be any limits! ;) There must be a good reason, but it's a real pain to not be able to accurately model real coasters due to this limitation.

Make sure you don't use it on Special Segments like Brake Runs, lift hills, and transport sections.
Also never use it on a vertical loop it will distort it.
If you have sections that you don't like how it was smoothed, you can go back to that section and modify and smooth it until yo get the angle you want on it.
After all is said and done I like version 1.6 and I thought it was worth the money but there was a few things they took off, one that I thought they shouldn't had taken off is the "invert selection" function, that would have made track smoothing alot easier.

The flying coaster, although nice does not interest me too much. I really do not like the vekoma track style, and for me, watching the ride from the first person perspective is difficult. The boblsed coaster still not sure of. To be honest, I never seen a real ride based off it, so its hard to have an idea of what type of ride to design for it.
Is it me, or does the coasters now run much faster. At least on my machine, I have no frame rate issues, especially with the wooden coasters. Where in the past I did have some slowdown. Overall this version is a much improvement. I don't like how it zooms in the editior, I like the mouse scroll button to have the same functionality like it did before.
Although in my opinion the version that included wooden coasters was more of an improvement, this one is still good. Worth the 15 dollars if your a fan of the game.

*edit - reinstalled the software and now the tunnel is there, that's odd...

True, this is an underground tunnel. And using the 3Ds way of tunnel-making, you too can make tunnels like these, like you have been able to for a while now (at least in 1.5 you could, not sure about before that).
However, 1.6 does NOT include a way to create underground tunnels built into the simulator. As cool as that would be, it's sadly not in there this time around.
