At No-Coaster Con, Six Flags Great America had a presentation for the two coasters, which are not yet announced, but are confirmed. The Intamin Impulse is confirmed for the Yankee Clipper area of the park, and the Vekoma Super-Boomerang will indeed replace the Sky-Whirl. The coaster will be a Deja Vu clone, and will be the biggest, fastest boomerang in the Midwest thus far.
Just to correct Coaster Demon on a few things:
A. PKI's stand-up looping King Cobra was built in 1984, 6 years prior to Iron Wolf.
B. SFMM's Viper and SFGAm's Shockwave are two different coasters. Viper is taller, longer and faster, and though the inversions follow the same sequence, Viper is configured differently.
And to answer your question as to why "they" use the SFMM coasters instead of SFGAm's, it is probably to save on the show's expenses. The show probably also included SFMM's Riddler and Superman. Why would they travel to Chicago to film ONE coaster when they can film its clone at a park where the film crew is already located?
SimCoaster-what do you mean. Viper is right next to the parking lot. Buss parking area. Batman however isn't near any parking lot. But Viper is vissable from the front gates....

"4 Seats are better than 2"
Regarding coater demons remark about the Iron Wolf,
The Iron Wolf was not the first stand-up coaster.
It was however the B&M stand up coaster in fact it was B&M's first coaster all together. The first stand-up coaster is at Paramount's King's Dominion in Virginia and it is called The Shockwave.
I would just like to say to all of those who doubted me. Ha told you it would happen. This site is great to contribute new news. Well I live around the park so i can't wait!
Does anyone know a source to purchase old parts from amusement rides? I think it would be cool to buy one of the old "birdcages" from the old Sky Whirl for my office, or is that ride going to be recycled to another park?
It is not a Deja Vu clone. It is a Deja Vu TWIN. They are being released in the same year. Deja Vu is not here yet.

Ah, Roller Coasters.
An hour wait for a two minute ride.
Rock on.
I think that SFGA should get full circuit roller coasters. They (in my opinion) are way better than the kinds they are getting this year.
well maybe in another 2/3 years we will get something spectacular again. they will probably do a few flat rides/kiddie rides for 2002.

What is life without it's ups and downs
I dont know about all of you but i am totally excited about the new coasters. I did here though that they were going to tear down loggers run, splash water falls, and yankee clipper though. Which if is true sucks but all the same i am excited.
