The Chinese theme goes with ninjas. Either way though that area is themed to Warner Bros Studio Backlot so the resteraunt is just coincidence.

Well, not to be too much of a stickler...well, I guess it is pretty sticklity, but ninjas are Japanese, not Chinese.

Ninja mechandise was on sale for almost all of Fright Fest, along with a lot of other stuff they want to get rid of.

Unless something drastic changes the only new things next year are a new restaurant to replace McDonalds and probably a few new shows.

I dont think its going anywere. On thursday they removed the trains from the track. And as of today, nothing more has apparently happened to it. There isnt even the slightest sign of it going anywere. And as far as anything big, i would not expect to see anything.

Just curious Bossstl and SFSL, what exactley is your job at Six Flags (if you can tell me)? Obviously Bossstl you must be either a full timer or something else because you are there when the park is closed.

And about the getting anything big, read the article posted on the other forum about Six Flags 3rd quarter spending. I think it would be nice if SFSTL could wait another year for something big and simply work on park atmosphere, such as friendlier and more energetic ride ops and food service people. Paint job on Eagle and overall cleanliness of the park. Get more for your buck sort of thing.

They're blue tags. ;)

As far as SFStL getting anything the next season, cross your fingers that a ride gets rotated to the park, as that may be the only way we'll get something. (or you could enjoy the new coaster across the state and the expansion at CC at the bottom of the state).

Just because he was at the park when it was closed doesnt mean anything. Lots of reasons to be at the park during the off season. Since the park closed there have been several cleaning parties and merchandise sales. Don't read more into a post than is stated, and don't believe every thing you read. As far as new rides go, I will personaly bet a nickle(ok I'm cheap and poor) that not only will SFStL not get ANY new ride, but no Six Flags in the U.S. will get anything of major proportions. All of the cap-ex this year will be spent on refurbishment of existing structures. We can only pray that means paint and ligthing for the crying eagle!

Just a couple of G-Force junkies!

The only way SFStL will get something new is if they do the "ride rotation" program this coming season. Oh well, at least there will be one new coaster in the state -- or will there be more (*cough* Branson area *cough*)

FYI, at Knott's today they had generic Knott's Berry Farm t-shirts on clearance. I suppose this means the park is closing?

The only time I rode Ninja was when it was at the '86 World's Fair in Vancouver... and I really really liked it! But it was like $10 Canadian to ride... and back then, I still didn't have very much money... Yeah, I know that's like $1.50 american, but that was a poor year for me. :-)

I kept hoping it would wind up somewhere in the Northwest... it was fun. Guess it has deteriorated since, but then, it's a Vekoma - that's what they do.

Great, then we can get those ridiculous segments on the local news like we got with Excalibur: "The troubled past of Six Flag's new ride!" And it wasn't even sweeps week.

BTW, where did this rumor start?

I think this rumor of Ninja being removed started because Ninja merchandise was put on sale during Fright Fest. Some people think that this means the ride is leaving, but Ninja merch. does not sell very well and the park wants to get rid of it.

Also, it's Xcalibur.

Well I first read the rumor at Screamscape (yeah I know "Screamscape") but my rumor was that it was to stay and I wondering about the merchandise.

If practice makes perfect but noone is perfect, then why practice.

If merchandise going on sale was an indicator of ride removals the Screaming Eagle would have been gone a while ago because in 1997 I got a shirt for $4 and it's still there. Hopefully my $6 SFOG Mindbender shirt that I got this year doesn't spell doom for my #1 coaster!

Have Fun!

Paul...Mindbender still draws good size lines and SFStL's Ninja station was *deserted* the day we were there...perhaps I'm just overreacting to your because Mindbender remains one of my top steelies :)

bill, picked up a Mindbender shirt on Passholder day, and thinks Ninja would be a much better choice for removal than Screaming Eagle, one of the best John Allens...still not as good as GASm-I, though...;)

Ninja merch. on clearance? Man, I wish I would have known. I could have picked up one of those cool T's to replace my aging one. The Ninja has the baddest logo in the joint. In Boss' first season, I was thoroughly impressed and wanted to get a rad T but they all looked like Doc's Harley reject designs, so I went with the sweet black Ninja T with the green background and black ninja logo. When leaving the station, I always put my fingers together like that killa Ninja now.

The Ninja crew always seems cool about rerides too. Whereas the Eagle crew seems content in making you walk the 3 miles to reride even with no one in the staion. Eagle has some cool retro lookin' designed T's, but I can't pull off retro chic.

It might not be the black belt of coasters, but its better than the River King or the 'ol Railblazer was, and I would hate to see it go without a suitable sitdown steel replacement.

Im with you guys: Paint the frikkin Eagle! It's kinda exciting that it looks like its gonna fall over when you're goin up the lift hill, but a new coat of bright white would be even better than the cheap thrill. I know its gotta be a pain but come on, its gonna be 2004, the fairs anniversary, the theme of the entrance! The whole park could use a facelift. I mean you can barely tell when you've left one area and entered another. I mean Excalibur was done so nicely, it made me wonder how nice it would be if the whole park had such a nice treatment.

Ok, so my post is kinda "ranty." I apologize.

I don't think SFI has the money to remove The Ninja for this year. Maybe next, but I don't think it's that bad a ride. It just needs a little TLC.

I'd love to see them repaint the Eagle. The last time they did that they filmed a commercial for the paint and put out a call for volunteers to ride it while they filmed it. My wife got to ride it over and over for a few hours.
