Ninja at SFSL Removal?

Rumors have it that the Ninja might be removed for 2004 and get replaced by something else. However I do work there and I know a person who is being placed as an operator there. However the rumors on Screamscape say that merchandise went on sale for Ninja items on the last day. So what is to come we will just have to see.

Here is some track for thought though. There is a Chinese resteraunt right next to Ninja. I recall someone saying in this forum a long while ago that since that reseraunt is relativley new and it is Chinese which goes with "Ninjas" that Ninja would stay. However I thought this tonight that since Orient Express is being torn down at WOF maybe it will move to SFSL and still have the Chinese theme. Who knows I dont think that would happen though since they arent the same park chain. I personally wouldnt want to see it go. The ride isnt half bad when your head goes above the shoulder restraints. Plus if you sit in the very back, it is a speedy fun headchopping ride.

What is everyone elses opinion?

Orient/Ninja/Wave A new hybrid coaster themed to a marshall arts master who enjoys surfing in the Sea of Japan :) The exit will be rerouted through the restaraunt.

Interesting how the removal of coasters sparks this interest in every coaster possibly being removed. *dum dum dum

Personally I really dont like Ninja its a fun ride, but since im 6'3" those restraints can really hurt your shoulders. On the other hand my sister loves this ride, its the only ride in the park that she can ride (she's only 50") and still get good thrills.

To tell you the truth i wouldnt mind seeing it go, but i really nice compact floorless coaster will look good in that area.

I for one Enjoyed Ninja, I like that little burst of air time on the first drop, the head chopper under the lift, and it is the only coaster I've ever gotten "floater air" through corkscrews on.(oh and I'm 6'2", if you slouch down alittle, you avoid the shoulder problem)

I don't really have anything to contribute to whether or not it's being torn down, but they did have discounts on Ninja merchandise on Nov. 1st when I went. Honestly though, I can't see it being torn down unless something new will be put there in its place.

I doubt seeing Ninja merchandise on clearance is an indication of anything other than the need to clear out old Ninja merchandise for new. I'm sure Boss, Mr. Freeze, and Batman merchandise is put on clearance, too.

I doubt that Ninja merchandise flies off the shelves, so I could imagine a huge amount of inventory that the park would love to get rid of before the end of the season.

The Chinese theme goes with ninjas. Either way though that area is themed to Warner Bros Studio Backlot so the resteraunt is just coincidence.

Well as agressively as the Express is being torn down, I highly doubt it will be going anywhere but the big amusement park in the sky.

Beware theSPINNING DRAGON only at WOF in 2004

I really doubt the ninja is being removed for next season, i have a fairly high season position in rides there so i get to hear most of the plans. Id say it will be there for years to come.
Maybe they will send it to SFNO too along with O.E. so they can have the record for the most inversions at a park with 546. *rolls eyes*

Brian, I was disappointed to miss SFNO this year, but with the getting OE, Herc, Shockwave AND now Ninja, they're going to have a pretty solid line-up next year....enough rough inversions to rattle the noggin, and that's BEFORE I finally get my ride on the backwards steelie....

While I didn't think very highly of Ninja, it definitely fits a niche at SFStL....and the way it interacts with the Mine Train makes it look as the there's a mine ride with inversions....*drool*....:)

Weinstein is coming....look busy!

Oh so someone else noticed the "we can only paint coasters on the east side of the park black" mentality they have a SFStL! LOL! :)

Ninja still has one of the best head-chopper effects I've seen on a steel coaster. That chain return guide makes me duck every time.

PS - for the record, Great Nor-Easter had the best.

New holiday & all-occasion cards, PLUS our 2004 Wood Coaster Calendar...all at S&D Greetings.

The rumor at Screamscape says that it might be on it's way out in 2005 , not 2004.

It would make sense that they would put the merchandise on sale ASAP because the stuff doen't sell incredibly well anyway. Look at Viper at SFOG though. There are STILL some T-shirts and stuff that haven't been sold yet.

Personally , I think that unless the ride will get replaced by a B&M Masterpiece , keep it.

EDIT: So many typos , I had to fix them.
