Next Movie to become a Ride?

New Line Cinema, which produced Lord of the Rings, is owned by AOL-Time Warner, so any park that Warner deals with (i.e. Six Flags) would include the possibility of a LOTR attraction.

Personally, I don't see either of those (Harry Potter or LOTR) movies ever fitting into an attraction of ANY kind. The storylines just don't fit into a ride environment. They aren't action movies. Don't get me wong, I'm a huge HP fan and I really liked LOTR, but what could you do? Maybe a kiddie broom coaster for HP, or a ET type of ride for LOTR? I dunno.

I also think that AOL-Time Warner got screwed when it came to theme parks. They have yet to open an as elaborate of a park as Universal or Disney. They are one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world! Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Most likely Spiderman: The Ride. I think it would be a kool idea for either a B&M flying or inverted. It would probably be called Spiderman: Web of Fury and will probably be at Six Flags MM in 2004.

except that Six flags parks have a deal with DC characters and Spiderman is a Marvel character.

I think I heard somewhere (maybe Screamscape)that Universal was looking to get a Harry Potter attraction. It is also rumored that Universal will be getting a Scorpion King or Mummy indoor coaster to replace Kong next year as one of those three new attractions.

I would love to see a Resedent Evil dark ride or coaster at whatever park

Missed Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid? This ride has the best mix of thrill rides and first class theming that is up to par with Disney or Universal. Personally, I prefer the feel of Warner Bros. theming over any Disney or Universal theming. Especially the way they do western, and main streets. Afterall, they are the kings of Western films. Don't forget, almost all films with Clint Eastwood are Warner Bros!

Believe it or not, all three Warner Bros parks have great theming. At WBMW Australia, I honestly wouldn't have thought it were possible to theme an SLC to that extent, but they proved you can (the ride has several "burned down buildings" throughout the course that you go over, under and through. Theming that is western at its finest on the Hopkins flume Wild Wild West.

The Wild Mouse at WBMW Germany has a great wacky theme. Also has one of the best dark/boat rides ever, with special effects being put to new meaning.

And on the Madrid park, there really isn't anywhere I can start. Almost everything about this park is perfect.

So what if the best coaster in Australia is a second hand Arrow?

Hey, didnt SFI say that they wanted to bring more "Texas" themeing to SFoT? Well then, the perfect movie tie in would have to be "Debbie Does Dallas". Of course it'd have to be a dark ride, with a lot of instances of going down.....

my roommate wants to have more rides like what Jeremy described. I brought up the fact that it wouldn't be a good idea having little kids walk in the entrance to the park with a big man behind them in a trench coat with his hands shoved in his pockets. aparently, he's planning on having a seperate entrance for those guys. I still say it wouldn't work. the public would tear it apart worse than a WWF theme park.

LOTR would be great as a stunt show! Think about what the action sequences would be like! If only it was owned by Universal...we'd get something to the tune of the 7th Voyage of Sinbad...and we all know how great that show was!

Anything but Dude Where's My Car
I didn't read all the posts so I don't know if someone mentioned this but an inside Star wars coaster would be very cool. The theming could be great considering all you have to draw from. I can see this at one of the theme parks in Florida. Which one has Star Tours? Thay should do it since they are already in good with Lucas. Better yet, they should do one on the Star Wars Holiday special.
Yeah id like to see a Spiderman or X-Men roller coaster. A Star Wars park would be awesome too. I also like the idea for a Matrix ride. Theres so many possibilities
I still want to see a pair of dueling inverteds themed to X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter

How 'bout an Oblivion clone called Thelma and Louise: The Ride. The cars can be themed to look like old beat up converibles and the drop can be themed as a big cliff that you drive your car off of!

LOL! Thelma and Louise, that's great!

What's YOUR favorite Intamin?

I designed a standup coaster themed to THE GREEN GOBLIN the villan in the new spiderman movie in one of my RCT parks the goblin rides(stands) on a rocket powered hover craft and the stand up train is meant to resemble it

I saw a preview for a movie about dragons called REIN OF FIRE that might make a good movie but the best bet for a new ride would be SCORPION KING or HARRY POTTER(YUCK)

how about a launch coaster called stargate.

I love the Pride and Prejudice Duelling coaster, and Thelma and Louise! Great ideas. Maybe a backwards launched coaster called Memento? If you've seen the movie, you'll get that.

As for the Lord Of The Rings Stuff, it won't happen for one BIG reason: Christopher Tolkien. He is absolutely insane in his control of anything middle earth related. For example, the Shire and Rivendell sets were completely destroyed after they were done filming those scenes. Nothing left, nobody got to keep a hobbit hole door or ANY of the props. Although New Line did make the movie, Tolkien's estate still holds the intellectual rights to all of the material, and they aren't keen on letting people use it for "play."

Rein Of Fire is a rumored coaster for DAK and Scorpion King is a rumored coaster for USF. Looks like you have some good ideas.

Also, a Spiderman ride at IOA would be great for THE MATRIX.

WHAT'S THE MATTER COLONEL SANDERS? CHICKEN!?

I would personally like to see a themed land to Shrek's swamp, and ridewise, how about taking the gaming level of interactive rides such as MIB and basing them on, well, video games. I'd be bidding a pretty high price on ebay for first rides on HALO: The Ride ;) Also not from movies, but still I think would be nice would be more creativity with the Looney Tunes at Six Flags. I'd like to see an interactive ride of either a space theme with "Duck Dodgers in the 24th 1/2 century" or some sort of Yosemite Sam ride in which you go through an old Western town (the latter i'm already making designs for just in case i ever get hired ;) ) Also, a spinning mouse themed as Taz would be pretty cool.
