Newest Post on Day in Pictures Thread

When I click on the blue piece of paper link to get to the Newest Post for a Day in Pictures thread, it takes me to the first picture. Is there anyway to make it take me to the picture(s) with new posts in them? Is that even sensical if multiple pics have new posts?

Makes total sense, but there isn't an easy way to do it, unfortunately. The new indicators don't have enough context or understanding about where to send you, since the "plugin" for the photo system kind of does its own thing.

Is there a quicker way to figure out which picture has the new comment, other than opening each thumbnail that has a red border?

I was under the impression that it did take me to the newest post if I clicked the blue paper.

I mark the forum read after each look. Does that matter and would it work? Because it's certainly not taking me to the first photo each time and the red borders go away too.

ADDED - it absolutely takes me to the newest comment. Just clicked it on the 'Cedarpoint opening weekend 2011' and it took me right to Ensign Smith's comment at the bottom of the 5th photo.

Is the the marking it read that makes it possible?

The photos don't "know" when you've viewed them the way a normal thread does, so until you've marked the entire forum as read, the borders don't go away. My "flow" is to start with the oldest photo set that has new posts, work through those, then the next newest set, etc. When I'm done I mark the entire forum as read.

Aha -- yes that worked! It took me a while to figure out where the "mark forum read" button was, until I had the grand idea to move up a level to view just that category (since I normally come in via the Recent page). Cool.
