TTD looks awesome, but a parachute....I don't think that'd be a good idea, too much chance for something bad to happen...
And as far as my crush on Moosh....c'mon, just LOOK at the guy....how could I help myself....;)

I wanted someone to get the "help themselves" joke...where's chris? He'd get it.
But TTD does look awesome, those pics looking "straight down" from the top were SWEEEEET....hope to get there in '04, this year's planned coasting has already exceeded the leave time allotted...thank goodness we can get unpaid leave, or my trips would be a lot shorter...;)
edit: I thought Rob was the one hung up on "helping himself"....and...THERE goes the neighborhood, dawn...:)

I don't think the tires will spin. That would mean an electric motor and controls, which means added weight, which means more energy needed for launch, which reduces efficiency, etc...............

I agree, no spinning tires. But it would be cool to have some smoke and sound f/x. Jack Falfas had told me that Xcelerator was going to have smoke and sounds but I guess they decided against that. My hunch is that with Xcelerator's launch starting in the station they thought smoke might not be a good idea. Perhaps with TTD's trains launching ahead of the station it will be easier/safer to so.
We'll know in a few months, eh?

I gotta assume that Cedar Point is getting some royalties for having Good Year tires so prominently displayed on the ride....
You may be right, but I would think it's kind of hard to find a drag racing slick without a company's name on it. Still, I guess they .

Brain Noble...remind me again, what is the FIRST thing to go...;)
What if there were small "fins" on the inner side of each tire like on a windmill? Just before launch there could be a concentrated, powerful blast of air from just below the track hit the fins and spin the tires timed to sound f/x of screaching tires.
That is *entirely* doable!

Well, I might be running on flawed Los Angeles logic. I have some friends who work at least in TV, and they all tell me that if you *ever* see a product logo, the company paid to get it in there. They may still show someone drinking a can that is obviously Coke, but the can will be turned so that the logo isn't visible if Coca-Cola didn't pay for a spot. No free advertising/make as much money as you can kinda thing.
Either way, I'm sure that Intamin/Cedar Point could have scrubbed off the logos from the tires. They could also have gone for slicks that weren't really slicks but still look good, or for relatively inexpensive (at least compared to the rest of the ride, I'm sure) hard compound slicks that won't have the manufacturer name on them.
As far as parachutes go, maybe they could just have little tiny plastic ones like the ones that GI Joe action figures had. I'd still be happy with that :)
