The new Dodonpa coaster in Japan now has its own promotional Web site. The S&S Thrust Air launches to a speed of 107 mph before flying through a long turn and climbing up the vertical tower.
Visit Dodonpa (Japanese).

The ride you are reffering to is the Moonsault Scramble Coaster at Fujikyu. It wasent a standard boomerang by a long way. This was probably one of if not the most intence coaster in the world when it was demolished this year (or was it last year).
The ride featured the only pretzle knott inversion ever built

Only have this shot of the Pretzle knott on me.
The ride was also the first coaster to pass 200ft (not Magnum as many belive) but due to its shuttle style it was never considered a hyper coaster.
The ride was torn down last year but Meshio are still looking for more buyers of this ride.
An intesting fact is that out of more than 200 coasters in Japan they don't have 1 single Vekoma Boomerang.

I rode "X" and never went upside down.
i rode this coaster not knowing what to expect...not even knowing it was the fastest coaster in the world!
how was the ride? it was GREAT! it was so fast i had tears in my eyes!
it was definitely worth the 2 hour wait!
Even with the additional track, it is still a short ride. Now if they could figure out how to increase the car's capacity.
Also, for those planning a trip there, the park does NOT take credit cards at all. Pretty strange since it is in the middle of nowhere, and I don't remember there being any ATM's. Also, the day i went, it cost 4500 yen for an al day "free pass," roughly $40. And the bus ride there from Tokyo cost about $35 each way.
