Bob O: As *soon* as I saw your post I *knew* you had to be from the Wisconsin side of SFGAm, because *NOBODY* who grew up on Chicago style pizza would ever praise the FireHouse Pizza @ SFGAm. In fact, I'll go on record as saying that is the *worst* food offering they have in the park. We ate there *once* when I was young and have never been back. After that, we always went to the caferteria style place right across the way that had decent chicken.

OK, That is the second Wisconsin remark I have seen today from you Jeremy! :)
I happen to live in Wisconsin and I can say with authority that a good pizza can be found within our borders. Milwaukee has many excellent Italian restaurants that serve some really awesome pizza. Come up here and try Marty's sometime.

The below statement is true.
The above statement is false.
Constant Looping is a lack of creativity.
here's the plan....
1) take out demon, burn it, and piss on the ashes...
2) take out whizzer, give it a nice ceremony, and say goodbye to a classic
3) replace the new area that you have with a 4d with like a barrel roll going over the path between the two sites.
4) get a new flat ride near that pond that demon goes by
5) ENJOY!!!

CLOSED RIDES - I can't believe some of you have never seen the "closed until 1:00" signs!! They've been using them for years - mainly on flat rides toward the baclk of the park. Last year, I went three times, and each time, Iron Wolf did not open until one. Neither did Fiddler's Fling or the nearby Carousel (all run by the same ride ops). I've often noticed that Triple Play and some of the Southwest Territory flat rides also do not open right away. The Haybaler, Sky Whirl and Cajun Cliffhanger used to be notorious for not opening until the afternoon.
FOOD - Yeah, it sucks. I used to work there and they fed us the same food in the cafetaeria. It's flavorless, disgusting and very overpriced. When I go with my friends, we bring food and picnic in the parking lot...either that or walk to Burger King.
LANDSCAPING - It may not be perfect but it looks like the botanical gardens compared to the dull scenery of Cedar Point.
FUTURE RIDES - I'm not a Demon fan. I used to like it but now it's gotten a little painful. Speaking of pain, they should be handing out Tylenol at the end of Iron Wolf. I'll be sad if the Whizzer is torn down... it's a good relaxing ride. I would like to see a good full circuit coaster come to the park though, it's been a few years.
If my 7 year old daughter can enjoy Demon and Whizzer, then why should they be removed? So all the thrill nutz can run rampant on the park?
In case some of you forgot, children do frequent this park, not just coaster enthusiasts. Think of others before making comments like. "1) take out demon, burn it, and piss on the ashes..."

2hostyl I didnt say the pizza was great, just the best food offering of a bad selection of eateries!!! In Wis. we have great pizza, but i perfer thin crust to the thick crust that seems more popular in Chciago. As for disney shows, the Indiana Jones Stunt show is great!!! as is the HunchBack Of Notre Dame Show/Lion King and the shows at the castle forecourt, not to mention great parades(unlike the joke at SF)and the fire works at MK/MGM and Illumnations at Epcot! Also 3d movies like Honey I Shrunk the Audience/Its tough to be a bug . Nothing comparable at all in any Six Flag parks ive been in!!!!
I also wouldnt take down Whizzer!!! best kid coaster there is!!! Ive also seen the closed signs, alot of times one coaster will be closed till 100pm and rarely on weekdays were both sides of American Eagle opened. I also think its bad if true that they removed the kid rides in hometown square!!! I think its bad planning to have all the kids rides in one part of the park and not have a section near SW territory, if the family needs to split up there is little in the area for kids to do.

Flume & Hydroblaster Crew for 2002!
I agree with Chitown. There are still a lot of kids that go to the park, and I know for sure when I was younger that if Demon and Whizzer (and Rolling Thunder) wern't there, I wouldn't have the love of coasters that I have today. Anyway, I have a friend that used to work Demon, and I think that drop is still one of the best in the park. Whizzer's not all that terrible, a little boring, but a good starter.
As far as what SFGAm needs, maybe a flat or two, but right now as far as most big parks around the country go, I'd say that they're above the norm. Still no reason to not fill the holes they can, but I'm not demanding anything. As far as coasters, there's still room across the tollway and there's still a few spots in the park that they can build on. It'd have to be a company that could build a compact coaster though. Food there isn't terrible, but it's expensive. Shows, well, different things attract different people, so it's hard to really give suggestion, maybe an Osbournes Imax or something like that.
For those who seem convinced SFGAm doesn't have any room to expand, take a look at a map for PGA (http://www.pgathrills.com/visit_map.jsp) and see where they've put some of their coasters. Especially take note of the placement of Top Gun and Vortex - SFGAm hasn't used that land for *anything*, so if PGA can squeeze them in, SFGAm no doubt can. Also know there's a good chunk of land between Viper, the go-karts, and Whizzer.

then CD3 *sixteen* said he likes to eat @ pizza joints like: "Pizza Hut and lots of local places like Papa Johns, Papa Joes, and Chicago Street Pizza, oh yeah and Sabarro(found in most mall around here)"
Oh god! That's not pizza at all! Pizza Hut and Papa Johns blow! Okay, they dont really blow, they are decent enough. And I'm not sure that the SFGAm pizza isnt comparable to that. But compared to pizza like Connie's, Giordano's, and Geno's East....they're not in the same league. Ask your folks to get you a deep dish (aka pan, bka stuffed) pie from Giordano's (ask for extra sauce :)), there's one not too far from O'Hare. After eating one of those and taking into account that's what I'm used to eating, you'll understand why I am not thrilled about SFGAm pizza.
Bob O: I *hear* that people like thin crust pizza. I've even *had* a few that were *decent* (Italian Fiesta, Reggio's), but I honestly dont understand the fascination with it. What I *do* realize is that deep affection for pan/deep dish/stuffed pizza seems to be a regional thing, that's how I *knew* you were from outside the ChicagoLand area.
Oh, and I loved HISTA (Honey I Shrunk The Audience). I just dont think of it as a "show" like say the Russian Circus.

2Hostyl,
IMO, there are two types of Chicago pizza. First is the deep dish/stuffed/etc (found more often on the "North Side") and the second is the thin and crisp as a cracker crust - always cut in squares (found more often on the "South Side").
Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
As long as someone doesn't try to serve me New York style pizza in that greasy, sloppy, limp, triangular slice, I'm happy. :)

The Pizza Saga continues...
I love New York Style, hate deep dish, but absolutely refuse to touch any form of pizza at any park. I have never liked cardboard.
