New park to be built near Omaha

80-Acre park will be built in Council Bluffs, Iowa (near Omaha) and will include one coaster. The coaster will be designed for the park and include elements of "the top coaster."

Read more from KETV/Omaha.

Sounds like another Jazzland and Bonfante Gardens to me...oh well, it just means one more amusement park born, and one more potential 'prey' for SixFlags in the future.

The park was actualy going to be built in omaha but there were some height restrictions around the airport. So they moved it over to council bluffs. In my opinion this a better location because there is more room to expand; enough room to expand quite a bit. Also the original location was kind of dirty with a lot garabage and old buildings and that would have taken a while to get cleaned up.

There is probably going to be three coasters. I don't know about this one that is supposed to be the best in the country but it must be pretty tall if it couldn't be built around the airport and the original location wasn't all that close to the airport.

On the contrary to most beliefs I believe this park has more to gain than most people think. Omaha is a very fast growing town as well as the bluffs area wich has seen many improvements since my childhood. By the way i grew up in a trailer park that will either be in the shadows of this park or across the street. This area has seen the addition of a dog track, three casinos, a sports arena seating 9000(next year), a sports complex for youth recreation sports, a nature trail, a Huge shopping complex all in the last 6 years and as the article said is less than a mile from Lake Manawa the Henry Doorly Zoo(One of the best zoos in the country) and Rosenblatt stadium(Home of the College World Series) Go Huskers!!!!!

If any parks that i think should be worried by this park being built is those of the parks closest to Omaha. Worlds Of fun and Adventureland will lose a lot of attendance to this park.

Whoo hoo! More coasters in Iowa! Now if only Adventureland would get a new coaster.
