And don't resort to cheap tricks like setting up a web camera on your front lawn. That kind of stuff will not be tolerated.

Just thought I'd post to this thread to get it back to the top -lots of new members posting today...WELCOME, and please read the FAQ.  It will save you lots of grief!

I don't know about anyone else my my eyes are not sore from Force Man's "i"s.  My head is sore from people complaining and correcting the tiny points of our grammar system.  I would also like to say that limiting the number of posts on a thread defeats the purpose of posting.  Why bother posting a response if the thread is going to be closed anyway?  The current system of simply deleting noisy posts works pretty well.
Where'd the spell check go, Jeff?

Not everyone's a super speller like all the mods here.

I'm certainly not a "super speller", I just try to make use of that nifty "Spell check" button :) (I'm also not using the new rich text box -- it's nice, but I like the Spell check better) I DO try to use proper grammar, though.

Jacob -- the Spell check unfortunately doesn't work with the new Rich text edit box. If you switch to the "plain" method, you'll get the Spell check button back.

You're missing the point... if the topic falls within the guidelines, it could go on for decades, if that's what the members want. It's not like we sit around here and think, "What can we close now?"

See, these things need to be explained better.   The ignoramouses like myself need special attention.  All this time up until you said, "It's not like we sit around here and think, 'What can we close now?'" I thought I could be a moderator.  I guess there's more too it than I first suspected.
Hey Thriller-reincarnate , thanks for the back-up on Compressed Airhead's ,in my view and hopefully others, dull and stupid complaint. I know that spelling and other things can be a eye-sore as some call it(i would rather use pain)but picking out little things that dont really matter like not capitalizing your I's is stupid, in fact i can practiaclly get away with it in school but i get chewed out from a freakin online grammar teacher. I know that i probably broke some rules in this post but im just getting my point across that picking out dumb little things just to in my view agravate someone should not be tolerated either.

Maybe the age limit on this site should be raised to 18.  It might eliminate some of the uneducated obnoxious trolls who think there is nothing wrong with being intentionally stupid.
Yes, that's sound perfectly fair...NOT!

Considering that many people my age actually contribute with helpful, knowledgeable posts...yes, let's snuff them out too...

I've been here longer than you, and I was 14 when I joined. I've never made posts just so I can here myself, nor have I started any flame wars.

Your statement is just like saying that teenagers are more bothersome and annoying at amusement parks than adults...it has neither justification nor truth. There are many adults that smoke in line that could use a swift kick in the ass...bus I won't get into that.

Sure some people that come here create some noise, but it's not like they can be prevented from joining to begin with. If they threaten people the whole time and upset members, and the mods warn them, but don't comply, then they can be banned, but bumping the age group for joining to 18 is ludicrous. That would just prevent half of the age group that amusement parks target from joining this site. Not very logical if you ask me.

Before we get carried away here. First off, we have no intentions of raising the age in which folks are allowed to post in the Coasterbuzz forums.  The minimum age is set at 13, in order to remain compliant with the COPPA laws (that would be the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998.)

Dave O'Brien, you should take a long hard look at the content of your last message.  You might just be contradicting yourself.  We have a lot of insightful members under the age of 18 that post more educated and insightful posts than yours.  (Heck, one of them is even a member of our moderating team!)

Secondly, people need to understand that moderated forums are not for everyone.  Some people like to post noise just to get a rise out of others.  These people are not welcome here. If you can't / won't / refuse to follow the FAQ's of the forum, I (on behalf of the rest of the Coasterbuzz staff) respectfully ask you to go elsewhere.

Watch it, buddy. I don't make the rules, I don't break the rules. To quote from the FAQ...

"1. Spelling & Grammar usage:
...People like to read real, spelled out words, with capitalization and punctuation... Please utilize your shift and caps lock key properly. Respect for the English language is important..."

If you want to get on my case for following the rules, try it. If you want to get on my case for attempting to steer a new member in the right direction, try it. There are some things that shouldn't need to be debated. This is one of them.

Well after about a week of observing coasterbuzz I decided to become a member. I understand how the site works and the direction the moderators want it to be going. So see you in the forums guys!

Cedar Point- The Amazement Park!

My intention was to draw attention to the fact that there is nothing wrong with sounding literate or at the very least attempting to type so others didn't need to translate.  It's in the forum rules.  Those who can't abide by this simple rule and intentionally ignore it, well...enough said.
I just think there's a learning curve to all of this, so you know what to post and what not to post. Heh, I know that on GTTP I was posting nonsense, but hey you learn that nonsense won't be tolerated.

And I would've learned faster if I read the FAQ the first time...

And finally, I'm 15. We can be mature, some more than others.

Just want to bump this up because of lousy SPAMMERS.

Some members will still wind up responding to them, even though it just fuels their fire...

Don't feed the trolls, and especially... don't respond to SPAM. Just ignore it and it will go away!!!

Hello, I am back again and I would just like to apologize for my actions in this forum a couple weeks back. I have always been a rule follower but the internet was always a place for my to somewhat "get out". I would also like to apologize to  Compressed Airhead for my actions to him. On that day as I recall I wasnt in the best of moods, but that is not a excuse. And finnally I would like to say it was the tragic attack on America that helped my realize I was wrong. I have now come to realize that what is going on right now requires all unity from Americans everwhere, but that is for another forum. Again please forgive me for my actions and good-bye.

Regarding spammers, noise and the recent "objectionable" posts, please notify the mods...responding just keeps those ill-meaning posts from falling in the abyss of page2-land.  Mods can delete those topics and posts which are so highly objectionable, other cb'ers can only keep that stuff on top.  Thanks to Jeff and all the mods - you guys are GREAT!
