New Dollywood Survey-WOW!

Some attractions on there are from SDC's survey, others include whole areas of addition! I said DW will be adding something HUGE, didn't I?

I want my Disk'O... if they build that, I'll have to find a way to get down there...

No, I'm not obsessed ¬_¬

The Davy Crocket thing dosen't look too bad, neither does the whole American Area. Town Square would be a great addition also.

I voted for the Sawmill complex.
I like the Town Square area more than American Celebration. Both seem like nothing but themed shopping centers, though.

Out of the four ride concepts, my two favorite were the Mystery Mine and the Logging Ride Area.

The Logging area looked fun, and it had a Huss Frisbee in the background. I also like Mad Mouses, and a kiddie coaster would be good for smaller kids. They could probably add this on to Thunderhead Gap without much work.

The Mining Coaster has a verticle drop, and I think that would be a great addition to help satisfy thrill seekers.

I thought the Indoor Disko thing sounded OK, but the entire area themed to snow just does not appeal to me. IMO It doesn't fit in with the Smoky Mountain theming as well.

Exactly. DW seems to lack a real 'town square' so I like it better-even though I like the idea of the fountain/water/lazer/fire show every night in American Celebration!

I think the Mystery Mine concept looks pretty tight. Meshing a dark ride with a coaster would be a nice addition to the park.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
^CoastermanX, I forgott about that part. Maybe they could figure out a way to put a laser show in the Town Square. ;)

The Sawmill complex looks to be the best overall option. Two coasters, some flats and it sounds like a play area. Something for everyone.

Although a Disk-O looks like fun, I'm not sold on a themed Disk-O. Davey runs into a bear, then runs away from the bear, repeat.

And WTF is with the snow area?

In the Saw Mill picture, there also appears to be a log flume/ waterfall ride above the kiddie coaster.

Also, Dollywood.com has finally been updated! It's spartan look is forever gone! *** Edited 4/25/2004 9:00:43 PM UTC by CoastermanX***

What is up with Dollywood all of a sudden?! Is SDC giving up and letting it's sister park take over?!

I like all of them.

The Ozark Wildcat, voted #26 wood coaster, the higest rated new wooden coaster since 2001.
ROYALS!!!

CoasterBill, Yes, that's exactly what is happening! Muuuwaah! *cough*

DW needs more rides, since theyve removed most to put in others. (i.e. Flooded Mine for Daredevil Falls; Thunder Express for Tenn. Tornado)

I'm jealous. While you guys added a kick-a$$ wooden, we loose our 'first-of-its-type' water coaster.... What's going on?!

And are you saying you would rather have the Flooded Mine instead of DDF?

No. But it counts as one more ride we woud have.

Don't forgett the three flats SDC removed when the park was renamed Dollywood-The Trabant, The Skyhook, and The Music Express. All were located in Fun Country/Country Fair.

I don't think Dollywood is taking SDC's crown place. It's just been a while since we've got anything big and it was probably starting to show in attendance.

We also got a few SDCers in management last year including an new GM.

Maybe ill get my Beemer soon.......

The Mine seemed pretty cool to me. The Disko looked cool, but the Mine just beat it out.

More than a dark-ride/coaster hybrid (they've already got that in Blazing Fury), Dollywood *could* just take that flume/coaster hybrid sitting on the HFEC shelf...;)

Dollywood really IS quite good....COULD use a mine train though, ROFL...why *did* they get rid of the one they HAD when they put in TT, they seem to have PLENTY of land?

Also, a couple flats *outside* the Country Fair area might help...

I think the reason TE was replace by TT is because of ridership. I know for fact this is why the Flooded Mine dark ride was removed for DDF.

I'm sure that if Dollywood felt Thunder Express was cost efficient they would have found a different place to put TT.

So, does DW have three coasters now? There's Thunderhead, Tennessee Tornado, and the one indoor coaster themed around a fire with a splashdown at the end. Right? I like American Celebration, the saw mill theme, and the abandoned mine the best.
