New CP ride, hydraulic launch or not?

quit complaining about stupid things like spelling and abreviations. It's not worth it.

Funny, no-one's mentioned this, it could use more than one system to launch trains. Such as combining hydraulic & LIM/LSM. That would be one serious launch, even faster than TA2Ks.

Although I'd say they'll be sticking with hydraulic only for obvious reasons.

kRaX, you left out air-launched.

Zero-G is right. They'll have the tower done before the launch is done. However, while the cranes are working on the 'high side' of the ride, smaller equipment is setting all the brake track and supports. The launch track and remaining supports will be the last to be set. Why?? They've got to get the cranes out of the ride's infield.

I would have to say that about 30% of the ride's track is now in place, but the most telling pieces of the puzzle are yet to be installed.

I don't know, I'd think that recent support additions would tell you quite a bit about the ride.

If you're referring to the two lines of gray supports added this week, I couldn't agree more. The basic layout is pretty much there. I'm thinking more of things like how the tower will be topped off, what's it going to do on the way up/down, and how far up there is 'up there'??

I think Jeff is right. The new supports on the down side of the tower give away the descent "trick". If you look at the new steel support coming out from the tower it indicates a right twisting down section, assuming the bottom of the track attaches to this support. Unless this thing has an inverted top-hat (not CP style to alienate the GP) I think this thing will have a 270 deg right rotation while traveling straight down. However, I think the ascent will only be a 90 deg rotation to the left.

This thing is gonna be awesome!!!

Ah, Jeff. You've been listening to Kristin I see. I'm not sure which side of the tower is which yet (though I have a good hunch launch is on the midway side) but she convinced me with just two photos. I didn't even notice those angled supports on Friday when I was up there.
