new CP construction pics - its big!

I'm shocked. The webcam seems to underestimate how tall it really is. I am so excited.......

Oh, and Speedy, I don't what GandC meant, but I do know that his sarcasm was not all that obvious.

huge as it is it looks barely taller then mf even though it is farther back. I am thinking that since it is almost done it might not top 400. Maybee i am just blind but it really looks base4d on my judgement and knowing the location like it is prolly about a good 325 and will be 350 375 when done? i dunno comments?

On this: http://www.virtualmidway.com/mystery/default_p120702.asp

the 3rd pic from the left, what are those red supports for to the right of the pic?

Those would be the cranes...

i got to say that the last video in that link was awesome quality. this thing is huge, is there any chance, by the way it looks, that the track does, like a 270 on the way up and then over the top and then the same on the way down? if you look at the launch side in the video, you can see a support on the outer side of the track, looks funky.

All I know is that it looks huge and sweet and I want to ride it!

Whats the speed that MF breaks at? That short break is the the greastest thing in coasters known to man as far as Im concerned, You dont even know your breaking!

Millennium Force carriages enter the BRAKE-run at 55 miles-per-hour. Xcelerator ups that by 5 miles-per-hour, but enters the brake-run at a 35° grade all the way through, which gives riders that forward stomach lurching halt sensation which is not pleasant if you're not bracing yourself.

After the ACE Christmas Party yesterday a bunch of ACEers went over to Battery Park to get a good view of #16 from the marina and I can attest that this thing is enormous! I am guessing anywhere from 350-365 feet tall. arlok2 had a good point about comparing to MF's third hill, it does give a better sense of just how big this thing is. Can't wait til Opening Day...May 4th!

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out."

It looks about 300-320. Power Tower is 240 but then the arch makes it 300 and it is a little bigger than that.
***Starts to plan CP trip for next year*** 'Nuff said.
Well if it's not really tht great (which I know it won't be) at least it should hopefully lower the line for MF.

You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!

right now, the supports are reachin into the 360's, also, it is set back a little farther than PT, so its much, much bigger than both Power Tower, and Millennium Force.

By the way, this puppy is going to be over 400 feet, and just Launch, Top Hat, Brakes.

Give me a break. None of us know anything like that. This is just like in 99 when everyone was *****ing about how much MF was going to suck.

MF does suck ;)

Still, it is, ummm, enormous. The dual-colored track is really ugly, though. In fact, the whole thing almost overpowers the park. Maybe it's just too big?

It'll probably be thrilling, but I don't know that *I* would enjoy it more than a smaller, long, more interesting coaster.

No matter what I will enjoy it.

Since i wasn't here back in 99, can someone give me a heads up on why everyone thought MF was going to suck?

They thought the layout looked boring. They thought it was way too short, etc. Everytime CP puts in something there is a huge chorus of people bashing it before it's even built. These folks had fun with WT being "just another impulse", and not worth putting in.

Does anybody have an idea what the hourly capacity on this thing is going to be? (Including details of the trains.)

-----------------

Im guessing around 2000 PPH, probably more.

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.

1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's

No way.....that's close to Gemini's! If we're lucky, it may be close to MF at near 1400.

I don't know, I think it's going to have a very high capacity. But who knows, I could be way off!
