Interesting. I didn't know that. Though, I'm rarely at the park during a heavy rain.

I hope something does happen back there. You know what's sad? I haven't been back past WT since they quit the dolphin shows. It's a "useless to me" area.
Maybe they're going to replace the utilities. They could put in new sewer lines and advertise their new attraction for 2011 as "Crap Shoot."
How much do they really need to upgrade utilities to build the World's Largest Cornhole Toss?

An even more likely possibility: They have done a lot of work recently to try and fix some of the lakes that form on the midway during heavy rain. That means tie-ins to *sewer* lines.
Storm drains don't tie into sewer lines. If they did, sewer gas would escape from the storm drain cover. The only way to prevent that is to install a trap which would cause blockages due to the debris.
They could be doing some work to the storm drains alone. I have noticed the pools and slow drainage of the storm drains. The slowest ones that I have witnessed seem to be in front of Breakers where there are no construction markers.
Just so you guys know what the differant color markings stand for....
Red....electric power lines,cables,conduit,and lighting cables
orange....telecommunications, alarm,or siginal lines,cables or conduit
Yellow....natural gas, oil, steam, petrolium,or other gaseous or flamable materials
Green....sewer and drain lines
Blue....drinking water
Violet....reclamed water,irragation, and slurry lines
Pink....temporary survey marking,unknown/unidentified facililities
White....proposed ex cavation limits or routes.

There are now construction stakes and flags on the beach, in the sand near the jet ski renatal. They are red markers.
I think it's now safe to say that this is now more than a repaving job.

Very intriguing. Where are these markers in relation to the rental building? Are they to the left, near the showers and steps that lead out to the beach? That would put them more or less in line with the beach gate.
Good catch.

Yea, they are to the left of the jet ski rental near the beach gate.

Interesting find! I didn't even think to look for anything on the beach yesterday, so I must have walked right past them.
Sweet the park is finally building that encircling 500 ft inverted looping wooden coaster we've been hearing about for years, awesome!@&*#&@!

Seriously though, wonder what it is for, cant think of a good way to put a ride queue and entrance near there, unless they are going to be moving the beach gate further down the boardwalk towards Breakers, which would have the added benifit of finally putting those picnic pavilions within park boundaries.
