I must say I just got a Dreamcast system, and after sampling the PS2 this past weekend, Dreamcast is *much* better IMO. I am NOT paying $320.00 bucks for a game system that isn't even all that great.

SOMETHING IS COMING!!!
In 2001 a new *beast* will rise at SFMM.
The problem with the PS2... It's a sony. Sorry, but Sony products are far from the high end, and they general fail after 3 years. I have my Dreamcast hooked up to Lexicon MC-1 digital processor and 7.1 channels of 150 watt Dolby Digital/DTS THX EX bang bang, locked to a 56" HDTV from Panasonic. I've also recently hooked my computer to the same system using the new "all-in-wonder". Looking forward to coaster works, side note Roller Coater tycoon is a whole new ballgame in stereo with a 56" HDTV/VGA monitor. The peeps are huge (about 6" tall). The coasters rock (Use a P3/700MHZ CHip with a good amount of memory). As for any gaming system, it is only as good as the display and sound system it's hooked up to permits. The price of the PS2 is about the same as a bottom line DVD player, that says a lot for something that claims it will lead the industry. I urge anyone who is a gamer to look toward getting a convergance card. Using my computer I essentially have two video game systems. Computer games do very well with these new cards. Make sure your audio card provides a coaxial or optical output for the best sound quality. Scan rates vary, but make sure the card has at least 18 Meg's of onboard memory. You don't have to do it over night... I suggest... New A/V card, new receiver/digital processor, then new TV. The card lets you merge, the sound expands the experience, and finally, the TV sucks you in.
