New coaster from Ride_Op Coaster Productions

Posted | Contributed by Ride_Op

Ride_Op Coaster Productions has produced a new coaster, and this one is quite a mean little rodent. Enjoy Rodentia, for the NoLimits coaster simulator!

Quantity one please. My American Express Number is...

this may sound evil, but why should we care if one person posts ONE coaster on their site? if everyone posted their coasters in the news section it would be all junk. a perfect example of choosing favorites, not very fair, its just a waste of news space...

If Jeff didn't think it was news worthy, he wouldn't have posted it up there. If you don't like it don't read it. Simple enough?

a dur dur dur do you think people HAVENT heard that before? anyways, im not getting all mad or anything im saying i dont think its neccesary to have coaster accidents, construction updates, then a single coaster for no limits (that wasnt even THAT great IMO) all in one category. this could have easily been posted in the no limits section. simple enough? *** This post was edited by MonkeyMaster on 3/28/2002. ***
I'm sorry if I sound stupid, but I have no clue what No Limits is. I saw a picture of a ride called Dark Abiss from the posted site and I'm unsure if this is a computer game or what. If so, where could I find one.

www.nolimitscoaster.de or www.nolimitscoaster.com , its ONLY available as a download online so dont look for it in stores :)
I agree with MonkeyMaster. I can understand an announcement when Badnitrus comes out with something since they're not using NL and since they're an affiliate, but if someone wants to announce their new NL coaster, just put it in the NL forums.

I’m sorry, I must have forgotten that this is your web site, not Jeff’s. Did someone give you guys editorial control over the news? I don’t recall everyone and there mothers uncle being able to post news up to the front page. News is submitted. If its worthy it goes up. If its not, it doesn’t. If you don’t like it, don’t come. Build your own better web site.

People aren't happy unless they have something to complain about. Slow news day, the guy does good work, I posted. Get over it.

Yikes...didn't know my news post would cause so much bickering. Advertising personal sites in the forums isn't allowed as far as I know, so a news post is the traditional way to announce it. Sure it's only one coaster, but it is hours and hours of work on my part. But if you aren't interested then don't read the news update, pure and simple.

I would appreciate constructive critism about the coaster though.

Ride_Op, all you need now is a little money, lots of steel, some fabrication equipment, and a couple of good welders. My Amex card with the delivery address is on the way...

Ride_Op....

I'll let you know how good your coaster is (in my opinion) when I get home after work today.

All I can say is that the pictures look sweet, and it is definately not easy to create a wild-mouse coaster. The curves have to be smaller, the dips have to be made to the size of a single car.

I commend you on excellent jobs for the coasters you HAVE done already, Ride_Op. I don't know how many other "buzzers" know it that have already posted to this thread, but YOU know the program basically inside out since you helped develop it and also helped put some of the original coaster samples on the program....

...so I'll let you know how good it is when I get a chance to download and play it!

I don't know why everyone is being such a sourpuss about it...

stoogemanmoe: It took about a week of tinkering in my free time to get the layout right. I wanted to go with 10 cars, but wasn't able to keep enough momentum and have enough track for 10, so I settled on 9. The supports really took forever since most are done by hand. I was probably building supports for a couple of weeks. Every time I start a new coaster I promise myself that it won't be as compact and I'll be able to use lots of prefabbed supports, but then I make something like Rodentia and that all goes out the window.

Thanks for the kind words guys! :)

Cool! i'm just learning the basics of the game..lol. since i've been laid off I've been tinkering with it off and on and can't get the vertices to be smooth. One I get the hang of it tho, I probably won't be able to walk away from the computer. :)

Its extremely boring. I hated it. Supports were creative and nice. But it was too drawn out, too long, and the same inversions over and over...

Well, I thought it was very cool, cause I use to run the Mad Mouse coaster that Little A-Merrick-A has now which used to be at a now defunct park called Enchanted Forest. Man , Those were the days. It brought back alot of memories.

Well, Ride_Op... I got a chance to download and play it...

Very unusual. I don't know too many wild mouses with a gagillion inversions, let alone any!! It's a really cool coaster and looks like it'd be fun to ride... however, I just wonder if it would be better without any inversions at all and instead just relied more on what was better about it, like hair-pin turns, sharp banked turns, little dips & drops, and the such!

Overall, it was very good... but I guess on the "realistic" factor... it ranks a little below average 'cause of the sheer number of inversions.

This one was a bit quirkier than a normal coaster because of all the inversions. My next one will be completely different.
