While not a huge change, the CF logo is in the background and shaped like an exclamation point, with the park name shaped like a banner across the front.
Oh, and there's a great shot of Behemoth's progress in the background.
PKI is probably getting the same sort of thing. I was driving down I-71 a few weeks ago and the "new" Paramount sign erected a few years ago was practically gutted.

Making the logo more of a wedge is a good change. I think the fact that they've half-assedly tried to push off "Cedar Fair" as a "brand" is unfortunate. It's not a brand, it's a cross between Cedar Point and Valleyfair and was never meant to be anything other than the container name for Wall Street.
I don't think there is anything else that personifies American amusement parks more than the roller coaster, except perhaps the carousel. But hey, Holiday World is just now getting one. :)
I do find it quite interesting that Cedar Fair chose to use the exact same "exclamation point" that Six Flags has had in their logo for as far back as I can remember.
Then again, if you're going to use logos from their coasters, you might as well "borrow" their corporate logo too.
It can be argued that a roller coaster hill, carousel horse and Ferris wheel are all symbolic of the classic amusement park experience. If you're going after families and not just thrill-seekers, I would think a roller coaster alone is the wrong way to do it. Besides, it doesn't look very festive.

That's exactly what I was going to say as well. When Golia-- er Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland was announced I had to check my calendar and make sure it wasn't April 1st because that was one heck of a parody CF had made.
I think they look similar... but definitely not the same. They both mean "rather large." They're different colors, and one is stretched at the bottom where the other is stretched at the top.
It seems to emphasize the individual park over the chain, while six flags emphasizes the chain over the individual park. The CF logo pretty much blends in with the background.
They're way too similar for my tastes, especially when creative people are getting paid good money to be creative. Cedar Fair has never been all that creative when it comes to logos and I see that's not about to change.

You're basically proposing the old 70's CP logo. ;)
