New CF Logos?

WOW! How original, and well thought of by the Cedar Fair Co

Cedar Fair has never been all that creative when it comes to logos and I see that's not about to change.

Of course not. Where's the ROI?

Oh yes, let's all be mad because a highway sign is not "creative". Sheesh, are you picky.

Ayways, I love Cedar Point's sign.

You're basically proposing the old 70's CP logo.

I guess I am. It's a little outdated but at least it looks fun.

Maybe I'm being overly picky but part of my job involves working with creative people. I know that if the people I work with came up with the bland stuff that CF seems to embrace, they'd be out of a job faster than they can say "unemployment".

I have to give Cedar Fair credit in the logo and art department with this one

Yeah, but it looks to be an extension of the Hydra theme, which was a rip-off of Six Flags' Medusa logo! ;)
I'm with ya Rob. When you go to school to learn design and most of your friends are designers, you have a higher standard I guess. Plus, designing cool stuff is way more fun. I've left several jobs when management decided they didn't want to be creative anymore.

I love the Cedar Point sign though. I like that it is low in height, has the big Snoopy and the changeable backdrop. Plus, it's "fun". I'm glad their flagship park's sign is different than all their others which appear to be becoming all the same.

I like the Voodoo logo too, even though it looks like their inspiration came from a t-shirt. They changed it up enough to be different. Plus, for Dorney (or even all of CF), it's a pretty kickin' logo.

I don't see too much of a similarity of Voodoo/Hydra/Medusa (it's kind of funny between Voodoo and Medusa though), but I thought Behemoth was an outright parody of Goliath from the same type of name that implies size, to the same kind of color scheme, to the strikingly similar look to the Goliath logo.

I'm not saying CF isn't creative at all, whatever department came up with the names for their additions 2007 and prior were pretty darn creative. However, they must have been let go for the '08 season because we have Dominator, Thunderhawk, and Fire Fall coming up, with Behemoth being very similar to Goliath.

And Goliath being very similar to Magnum...and Magnum being similar to Big Dipper...and...

OK if you want to talk about LAZY CF marketing, let's not forget the Raptor and Talon logos. EXACT rip off from Raptor-the only thing difference is is says "Talon" on it and not Raptor. You can see the exact outline of the Raptor head.
The lettering is exactly the same as well, only difference is the coloring.

Not that Im a Raptor expert or anything! ;)

They all do it. It's called building a brand. Disney is a master at this. Why reinvent the wheel, when you payed for something similar before.
What isn't Disney a master at?:roles eyes:

Building a brand is one thing but recycling ideas is a sign off either cost-cutting, lack of creativity or both. I know, I know... it doesn't matter. But when you're someone that deals with creative people, you tend to pick up on that sort of thing.
Their logos are as generic and uncreative as most of their theming and ride naming. *** Edited 12/7/2007 9:49:05 PM UTC by super7****
