New Arrow 4D still under wraps!

After speaking with a close associate still at Arrow my suspicions were confirmed about an up-dated version of the 4th. the project was under very tight wraps when I worked there and is just now being leaked. Apparently it is a spin-off single vehicle 4d/arrowbatic combo with castor style wheel carriers (this was prototyped on the pipelineII scale model wich was built in the shop in 96) this was supposed to be kept secret until after the bankruptcy but with liquidation immenint the security walls seem to be crumbling.
A 4D Arrowbatic huh? That sounds like a pretty crazy idea if it's true. I hope that Arrow will get trough their economical problems soon and that some parks buy some of these ideas that Arrow has come up with. I think Arrow with the right leadership and with some money it'll be a major company to count on like it's golden age a couple of decades ago.

This should be in the "Rumors" section of the site. Oh, wait a minute, Jeff got rid of that section because it was mostly noise, my mistake.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

I don't mean to insult anyone here, for all I know this could be fact. But I love the way all of a sudden everyone seems to have a contact within Arrow. Even worse, people seem to think the average enthusiast would actually care about something that may or may not ever see the light of day.

At least for me, until a park announces one, all these contacts revealing private information are full of it.

Outkast,

Ask me any question about arrow going back ten years

I do have an Arrow question, what ever happened to Ron Toomer, and why did he leave?

-----------------

I believe Ron is still a consultant with Arrow. He is retired. The man is in his 80's for crying out loud! Can the man not enjoy the fruits of his labor in relaxation?? :)

Also, I do know that Arrow had some other innovative designs they were working on after the 4d was developed so this is very possible. I want to know what happened to the ArrowBATic prototype they constructed last year...

Chris, they had to sell it as scrap so they could afford to finish X ;)

Deja Vu count: 1
Will it go up this year? As long as it doesn't valley before Monday evening!

Ron toomer was booted out by Alan Harris during the R&D for the Myrtle Beach Mad Mouse. Alan Harris posted a short memo as such and said more info would be forth coming. But nothing transpired, it came out later that Ron was trying to contact the main investors and let them know what was going on with the company. He did'nt like the direction Arrow was taking and he was being slowly pushed out of the decision making process. This was very sad because everyone liked Ron but the upside was that we could now depart from the old stuff and could develop more inovative products ie: Arrowbatic, X, After Fred Bolingbroke ousted Alan Harris, Ron was welcome back and visited us several times I believe he still lives close by in Farmington.

"...it came out later that Ron was trying to contact the main investors and let them know what was going on with the company. He did'nt like the direction Arrow was taking..."

Prehaps he saw Bankrupt days coming for Arrow back then.

Prehaps he now says, "told you so".

Thanks for the scoop coasterdummie!

I know, it'll be like aregular coaster on top or below the track, Arrowbatic, and spin on the inside on top, 4D. Kinda like the new fair ride I rode Magnum, it's like the Crazy Dance, sep the cars went upside down. It was awesome! But, on the coaster they'd all be in a row flipping backward or forward along the track. I think that's probably it. Kinda Like this:

Didn't know the Dippin' Dots guy worked for Arrow. ;)

10 posts into this and no has invoked "those who know don't tell and those who tell don't know"?

Those who know don't tell and those who tell don't know! There!

You're not really a dummie after all! ;) j/k. LOL.....so what did you do for them? Just curious. There have been some unique ideas indeed since the X debut, but this whole bankruptcy thing has killed their drive. Arrow has so much to give, but it may be too late.

hmmm.. no more questions? I thought people would have had more interest in americas premire(sic) steel roller coaster manufacturer.

Arrow guy,

I used to design for them, there have been a lot of good people come and go over the years, and this is'nt the first time arrow has filed for bankruptcy protection, the last time was when Huss owned them, make no mistake about it, there are a lot of companies competing for ride contracts nowadays and it gets to be a very dirty business.

You're telling me! It's sad to see a company that pioneered so much have trouble. They are incredibly diverse, but it seems that most of their non-coaster rides have been accounted for. It was amazing to see them come back from the Huss days and reign as the coaster champs for awhile. Now that they have built an incredibly smooth and powerful looper (TT) I cannot rest knowing that they have every reason to stay alive. X represents an ongoing strive for the next thing in coaster experiences, and with every innovation (no matter who build it) there are sacrifices. The Bat hit them hard too, but they came through and delivered suspendeds that rocked the industry! IMHO I think the Stratosphere thing will go through, eventually. That would be such a great project for them, not to mention the ArrowBATics as well. Premier's involvement would certainly be interesting, especially if the LIMs are mixed in with some designs.....now I'd like to see a launched loop! :)

Arrow Guy,

Yes Arrow HAS been a great innovator, but a company is only as strong as its employee base. Arrow has been plagued with bad management. They have had no regard for their employees. The few left in control only have their own selfish interests at heart. The only hope is that someone comes in and buys them with restructuring in mind. but the reality seems to be that they will be liquidated

Here's a question for Coasterdummie:

Will Shockwave (SFGAm) ever see lapbars and, consequently, a bearable ride?

I've got a question Coasterdummie,

Who is/was the driving force behind the Virgina Reel comeback? How long has it been in development and likely park implementations if any.

Also if you could email me i have some other more park specific questions.

I don't know about you, but I would never de-fang a venomous snake, even if it's for the sake of keeping it as an exotic pet for other's enjoyment...
