My friend rode TR:TR!!!!!

Is this "electrician" a friend of the neighborhood friendly Lemon Chill guy
maybe a buddy of the dippin dots guy!
I find it hysterical that you guys are complaining about this ride when all that SFGAdv is getting this year is a FRIGGIN' DOLPHIN SHOW!!!

I actually happen to hate top spins. After my painful on the top spin at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion, I may not want to ride another again. But if this ride is a top spin, I may give it a shot.

And my friend, he's a dippin dots guy just like your friend, he got to ride Xcellerator already!!! I tell you, some people are just so lucky these days.....

And this one time, my other friend, he got to ride Rollersoaker and he said it was sooooo cool, he likes to eat chocolate....

You gotta love all the smart-ass comments in this topic. Yes, the lemon-chill comments are deserving a lot, but in this situation this guy seems to have some merit. Someone who wanted to come out and make a false claim would likely 'give away' info about the ride, but in this case he didn't. No 'new information' was gained, so what would be the point of lying? I'm not saying that its 100% true, but still, look at some of these replies.

Slow down there DtLM...not hassling you or anything, but let's take a look at SFGAdv's "new rides" for '02. First, the newly improved Chiller, laps on both sides...:). Then, Viper (with modifications of undetermined nature) will reopen after a year of SBNO status. Then, add in the fact that ANY work done on RT has GOT to be an improvemet...and they MAY run both sides this year! True, nothing they can really "make hay" with on park literature or anything, but hardly what I'd call disppointing, especially after Nitro...finally, they're bringing back the (sorely-missed) Parachute Drop, chock full o' memories...

As for TR:TR, the theming IS the "gig" so to speak. I'll check it out for that reason alone...

Of course, I wasn't really fond of the Jetta until we got one, so you never know what you're gonna get, isn't that right, Forrest?

NoLimitChic: it is exactly like Texas Twister, only GIANT! :)

Sorry Davie! I guess we are pretty spoiled here in Ohio! I believe the accounts too, and seeing that they open in less than a month, I would hope that testing has begun.

BTW, Koaster King(is it?), where did that come from? The Honda comment was true, I don't see how you took offense to that.

You're right it may be true, but how was that comment any different than "I've never bought something at Arby's, but it doesn't mean I never will"? You could really say it about any subject and there was not point to it. I never said Paramount or PKI would "never" get something from Huss ever, because they hadn't purchased from them(of course, I did learn that they had), and I thought I should say that I never said that. It really has nothing no do with what I originally said, did it? It just looked like a comment out of nowhere trying to be rude. Maybe it wasn't and I made a misinterpretation, but seemingly peeing on my newspaper before I get a chance to read it, isn't the most friendly gesture I've seen. At least tell me what was in it.

Anyway, does that answer your question?

On April 5th, my eyes will be glued here! Because I know someone will be riding TR:TR(if they get it done) and can for once lay to rest the hype! COME ON APRIL 5th! I'm tired of this arguement!
April 4th is Season Pass Preview Day, but is it just for a park preview in general before everyone else or Tomb Raider as well?

ST Chick: Does it really bother you if Paramount is "trying to be Disney"? I mean, certainly it wouldn't hurt to have some of that in Ohio or in any seasonal park that's willing to try, I think. I would hope that it didn't have huge lines on the 7th for all the others that want to ride and actually, I would want the lines to be short overall. Hopefully, moving through an extra 900+ people per hour will be a good think for the park even if KC is being removed. But the new F/X Theatre film should be going in for a longer period than SF as well, so that may help with better capacity too.

I don't know if anyone's been to Alton Towers, but they have an attraction called the "Legend of the Towers" that sounds a lot like what folks are predicting (i.e., top spin).

Actually HEX: Legend of the Towers is a Vekoma Mad House, not a Top Spin, same effect of going upside down, just that one doesn't (it's the Vekoma Mad House that doesn't ;) )

This may sound like a dumb question, but does anyone know where there are any pics of real Huss Giant Top Spins in parks? Thanks...

I'm not disappointed at all what it is! First, a top spin is a good ride anyway, and who knows what it could be. Although I'll probably never have the money to get to Ohio to ride it, I'm thrilled anyway.

Hasn't SFKK had lots of trouble with there Huss Top Spin called Quake? I heard they were replacing motors on it all the time!

SFKK has a Vekoma Wakki Wave (aptly named Quake), not a Top Spin. Yes it does break down all the time.

I for one do have to applude PKI for taking the seasonal amusement industry in this direction.
I have also been begging them for a flat ride for years, so I am darn happy.

MillenniumForce6279: I thought Hex: Legend of the Towers was a GREAT attraction, and I wondered what kind of ride it was (I've never heard of a Vekoma Mad House). Thanks for the information. Personally, what do you think about the possibility of TR:TR being a Vekoma Mad house? (and I'm talking to MillenniumForce 6279 here) I don't know why that wouldn't be possible if everyone's saying Top Spin (which I think is a REDICULOUS idea by the way).

I find it very amusing that a few folks have already 'dismissed' the ride without giving it a try. Such a shame.

Also, if the ride ends up being a quite intense one that you may not want to ride, I am almost certain that it will contain some sort of chicken chute for those that don't think they can handle the ride.

For those that are looking forward to riding it, I applaud you for not getting your hopes up for an attraction that the park has said many of times it isn't. There is no doubt in my mind the ride will be very popular, and many people that have already bashed the ride will think differently after giving it a ride. Just my view.

I don't thin Summers ever worked for KECO. Dinn was the construction supervisor at KI at the time. Im wondering who you are refering to leaving to work on his own?

Pick, pick, pick.

I think you know the point I'm making...any Paramount employee who came up with this idea will get bored after they're built in the three Paramount parks. Soon they will be off filling the needs of other parks clamoring to get one...in the same fashion that the Beast set off a wave of giant me-too woodies
