My friend rode TR:TR!!!!!

started Well I guess they've already loading on the test riders for TR:TR. My friend, from my church, is basically the big cheese electricial/technicition at PKI this year. I saw him yesterday and he said it was amazing. He couldn't tell me what it was yesterday but when I said, "Huss Giant Top Spin," He made a HUGE smile :)

So guys With that said I think we can look for to what TR:TR definately is. A Huss Giant Top Spin. And Kara, I'm not dissapointed :)

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.

Maybe he was smiling because that's not what it really is. I strongly doubt it's Huss, because I don't believe any of the other Paramount Parks have purchased Huss rides, but I may be wrong. If it is a top spin, you should remember that the ride is based around the theming and the kind of movements the ride can make to simulate and imitate the quick changes in direction and variety of things it can do to get you the best interaction with the theming effects. It's not there to make you spin over and over and puke all over the place. I've also heard that water is one of the more significant effects to the ride. The ride vehicle won't disappoint me no matter what it is, since, in case it would be the extreme spinner like they usually make them. I could easily look forward to the theming and walk-through areas themselves.

Oh, and make sure you check your e-mails. There was a TRTR update yesterday afternoon.

What does the company purchase history have to do with anything? I've never bought a Honda, does that mean I never will?

PKD purchased a Huss Troika, which is their new ride Triple Spin this season. So maybe Paramount got a packaged deal here.

Or that Troika came from another park. I know that PGA had a Troika at one time.

Also PCW does have a top spin called Cliff Hanger.

Wonderland's Top Spin is actually a Mondial Splash Over. But Wonderland has a Huss Skylab (Sol Loco), Kings Island has a Huss Troika, as does PKD effective this season, and Kings Island once had a Huss Skylab. So the argument that the chain hasn't bought Huss rides doesn't hold up anyway.

Aren't Top Spins programmable? So can't it be synchronized to a ridefilm and live effects?

Even more intriguing...if your stock Top Spin has 16 different programs, why can't a custom model be programmed to present ridefilm and 4D elements in differing sequences.....or show different ridefilms altogether????

Final question: Remember when Summers and Dinn left KECO to work on projects independently? Can you see that happening again?

What is a top spin?

-----------------
There is NoLimit when it comes to Roller Coasters

It is a cool ride that has a single long car connected to 2 Main supports on each side, The supports move in a 360 degree spin, and the car connected to them, spins in all different directions, but it turns 360 degrees too . I will get the link to a picture of one.

here is the link to one :

Thanks Titan!!! So I see it is like the Texas Twister at SFWoA? Or am I thinking wrong?

Now your thinking outside the box :)

I don't thin Summers ever worked for KECO. Dinn was the construction supervisor at KI at the time. Im wondering who you are refering to leaving to work on his own?

Chuck, saying the grand scheme was dreamed up at Paramount parks headquarters in Charlotte with probably added input from KI higher ups.

167 coasters and hopes to be over 200 by the end of 2002 :)

Why are we still talking about this? Hasn't it been obvious for months that it's an enclosed Top Spin with effects????????

I never said never. Don't put words in my mouth. I just thought that if PKI or Paramount hadn't dealt with Huss before, then the chances of them being a significant part in a ride like Tomb Raider would be much lower than if they had dealt with them before and could trust their products. I think that's a pretty reasonable opinion on the subject, don't you think in there? But since they have dealt with them before which you didn't prove in anything yourself, I got the necessary information I needed to raise the possibility of it being from Huss. So, thanks everyone who helped me out here!

Trolling isn't very nice. Especially when you don't decide to enter a conversation until you have something negative to say to someone.

Jeff, you don't know what your missing!
Test drive an Accord V6 EX and take a look where the future of automobiles is going.

Visit your local Honda dealer or visit us online at www.honda.com

Yes the Troika that PKD is gettting is new.

I'm actually not shocked that people are still talking about this. Top Spin, snot spin. The good is the ride interaction part, the technology could be used in other applications. I would never get on a Top Spin, or any spin & puke, but maybe they'll come up with some bumper cars with the same effect:), or maybe a real cool Catepillar or something. The Troika thing @ PKD, what's a Troika?

BTW, Koaster King(is it?), where did that come from? The Honda comment was true, I don't see how you took offense to that.

Well, if he's an electrician, then it has to be true......

And by the way, if this is the case, what a disappointment.

I don't know if anyone's been to Alton Towers, but they have an attraction called the "Legend of the Towers" that sounds a lot like what folks are predicting (i.e., top spin).

Anyway, I'm sure this topic will be grounds for fodder for everyone for some time, and everyone's gonna have an alleged "insider" who rode Tomb Raider: The Ride. Could it be true? Possibly, but there's an equal chance Rosie O'Donnell may not inhale a dozen Krispy Kremes at the end of her next show......

I dont think that PKI is going to let prople on that ride before the opening day, because of reasons like this, they dont want the secret getting out of the box (pardon the pun), maybe your friend is just making all this up, and who knows he may be right on what the ride is, but then again he may be wrong also.

As you may be able to tell from Charlie's comment, this ride doesn't really excite me all that much...and I don't really see what the big thing is. Sounds like Paramount trying to be Disney to me, but then again it isn't my homepark either:). I just hope on the 7th it has a huge line, so I can easily get my 100th coaster with short lines :).
