My forums keep getting deleted!

Hey Jeff, someone keeps deleting my forums! I just made one an hour ago (A Few Questions...) and its gone. Can someone please warn me? I have had many other forums deleted.

Top 5:
1. Millenium Force
2. Batman: the Ride
3. Riddler's Revenge
4. GhostRider
5. Raging Bull
First of all, let me just say I wasn't the one to delete it. With the title like "A Few Questions," though, I can see why it was deleted without even knowing what the content was. The title gives no clue as to what the thread is about, so that's gotta go.

And try to limit your signature to at least three lines. Besides, not to be a jerk, but nobody really cares about your top five anyhow.

Oh, by the way. They're "threads," not "forums."

You don't need to quote a message when you're the first person to respond to it. Especially if you're only talking about one part of the post.

Maybe some people do like to post their top five, but it's not the kind of thing Jeff likes to see at the end of a person's message every time they post. If you're going to do it, though, try to put them all on the same line. Saves on space.

The answers to those questions in that particular thread could have pretty much all been found by using the search feature. Many threads get posted asking questions that can be found in 5-10 seconds by using "search", but, many seem to disappear. ;)

And I worked hard (with some help from Duane, the RCDB guy) getting that search function to search properly through the 120,000+ posts in the database. Let's not let it go to waste, eh?

Lynch's comments are right on. Non-descriptive topics, long signatures and unnecessary quotes are all bad. Please read the FAQ if you haven't already. It's the "bible" of sorts that we moderate by:

Oh my freikin eggs and ham! he said forum not thread! call the police!

And if his signature was too long there needs to be a limit for everyone... it can easily be done in the text box that you enter it in in your account options.
Sorry Jeff and Lynch, but I think the moderators as with everyone else gets tired of the mistakes newbies make, when we forget we had to learn the rules too.
deleting someone posts tells them 1 thing "I didn't like something you did"
it dosen't help them learn

But allegedly, everyone reads the rules because they're indicated in the e-mail with your password.

It'll all be academic before too long, because you'll be forced to read the rules before you post.

Even though lynch came on just a little hard on him they both have a point. I find it annoying as hell to see a signature post with more than three lines. If you ever stop and look at thrillrides forums then you know what I mean. Even their moderators have freaking signatures that are 10-20 lines. Anyways they are trying to create less noise. And as you said I think some of the moderators often forget that new people that don't know the rules join coasterbuzz. They all have to learn somewhere.
