"In other words, Voyage II"
Sarcasm, something that seems foriegn to you. I guess I should have made it more obvious.
"To me, a ride like Voyage comes along once a generation. El Toro sounds like a terrific ride, but I'm sure that like every other wooden coaster NOT name Voyage, it's not going to be perfect."
Read the trip reports dude. Most of those who have ridden Voyage find it to be the closest thing to perfect they have ever ridden. All you have to do is take a peak at the other "El Toro" thread in which people are already saying there is NO WAY El Toro can beat Voyage. And I'm saying, so what. Even if that's true, that shouldn't color opinions of the big bull. Jeez, is that so tough to get?
ugh, why am I explaining what is SO easy to understand. *** Edited 6/13/2006 9:13:12 PM UTC by DWeaver***
Dante, who prefers to not rank coasters at all. You're still a jerk :) *** Edited 6/13/2006 9:07:40 PM UTC by DorneyDante***

Thanks for another great season, VF!
No, not Voyage II. First of all, it would have to be in a woodsy environment to deserve that title and be "bigger" as that's how sequels are... Anyway, my expectations of ET have nothing to do with Voyage which by the way isn't perfect. I was one of the few who have been very excited about ET from the day it was announced and didn't care about its "short" length.
Lookng at the animation and the renderings and thinking logically about the progression of layout from such a tall first drop to a lower and lower profile along a "short" layout, I determined the train was going to haul all the way to the end, and knowing it was Intamin, figued it would have insane ejector airtime all the way through.
Yes, Voyage maintains a great rate of speed through the whole ride (minus the block brake), but there really isn't any ejector air to be found, but I didn't expect any based on the press release claiming "... a feast of floater air..." El Toro is not The Voyage II. To me, it's more like an Intamin hyper. I don't know if it's better or worse than The Voyage, and I don't care. I am just interested in seeing how the actual ride matches up with what I envisioned it would be, and that is a non-stop, insanely intense airtime machine equaling one of the greatest roller coasters ever made, despite all the people saying things like: "there was no way it would be as good as Voyage", "It's wayyyyyy too short," "It looks boring," etc... Sorry about that long sentence. And if I misinterpreted someone's comments, I am sorry.
I love The Voyage, but I am still VERY excited to get back to Jersey and ride El Toro.

Oh, by the way, I'm representin' the people who don't understand why Voyage is constantly brought up in El Toro threads.
Is El Toro vs. The Voyage the new CP vs. SFMM?
All that aside, what's going on with Rolling Thunder? Is it back in operation? Has it been "fixed" or does it still stink?
I hope to get there in two weeks. Maybe by then both sides of Chiller will be running again too.
Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!
Side note I did see 3 guy working on Robin track of the Chiller.
Thanks,
DMC

yup. as in stick a fork in you. DONE You walked yourself into this one.Talk about trolls? Does anyone have any treats to feed this one? Im all out. O humph!
Roller coaster 3 is very good value.
I think you need to take a step back and realize that winning this arguement doesn't make you a winner. I'm not even so sure your confidence is justified.
What is important is the quality of the ride experience. Sure there are long coasters such as Voyage, Beast, and Boulder Dash that are great rides but shorter coasters such as the KW Jack Rabbit, Cornball Express, and Raven are great as well.

My coaster experience is limited, so prior to this I would've listed Lightning Racer as my favorite wood, followed by Roar at SFA, and Medusa (SFGAdv) as my favorite coaster. SFA's Superman:ROS scared me, and I was afraid to ride Nitro. Laterals & inversions were my friends, not airtime.
The Flashpass man (never used one before, but it was a 4 hr day and a new coaster with a history of a line) set our Qbert for ET in 10 minutes so there was no time to think, we just got on. And something kept kicking my 170 lb tush out of the seat again and again, the first time while I'm hanging over the edge looking (what feels like) straight down at the ground. In between kicks, there are the banked turns and lateral forces I love so much in the GCIs.
Awaiting re-rides, Medusa paled in comparison. Nitro was now a must ride despite my earlier fears, and it was good. Our back seat rides on El Toro were better than the first in the middle, and I have a new favorite coaster, by a mile. Regardless of how long the track is.
They need more blue shirts to pin people in. One guy doing 18 rows takes too long when only 1 train is functioning. My lap bar was one that set off their sensors on one ride when they just placed it instead of jammed it in, but when you're shoved over it again and again it's good to have it there placed by a 'professional.'
