My dream for PKI... what's your's?

I am all about a steel terrain coaster somewhere in Rivertown as well. But perhaps some of you don't realize how close WWC's lake comes to the Log Flume. You have the lake, the train tracks, then the flume. Unless you suggest they take out the picnic grove. :) I'd say something back behind Beast and TR:TR would be the ideal spot for the 'town. Of course I don't see it going over, under, or through anything, because the park is so expansive, they've never needed to. (But I do think that it does look pretty cool at the BG parks and places like that.)

I would seriously concentrate on adding several flat rides, then in terms of coaster construction, an Arrow Mouse, an Arrow Hyper, an Arrow 4D, a B&M invert, and then a reprofile of the rough spots on Adventure Express and Vortex, all done by Arrow.
Free Admission for me and my family for as long as we all shall live! That is my dream for PKI.

My dream is to see a 425+ foot tall teracaoster with at least 8200 feet of track and a 90 degree drop BUT it will never happen because one of the managers told me durinf an ACE walkback that the guests are not into large coasters and that they want family rides! :-( I hope they get at least a junior hyper like Goliath @ SFH but I don't think PKI wants an airtime filled coaster anymore because the new manager wants only families in the park not thrillseekers or that is what I've heard! :-(

-----------------

The new manager wants as many guests possible irregardless of age or interest. I guarantee it ;-)

John Peck,
I think you might have a lil' obession with that Arrow company... ;)

I just thought of another "wish list" idea. How about trying to find a way to extend Coney Mall to make room for some replica of Old Coney Island rides like the Tumble Bug, Catapillar(s), Lost River/Casades. Maybe replant some Gingko trees along the mall to give it that Old Coney look.

Wow. Chris Rettig has it hit on the nose. I've never thought of that but he's right. That's the perfect place for a hyper. PKI? You reading this?

Another thing I've thought of is to add a Intiman launched kinda like Volcano: The Ride.

-----------------

For me PKI is more than just a great theme park...it's an extremely close place to my heart because of all of the wonderful memories i've made there with both friends and family over the last 15 years. when discussing ride additions or park improvements i'm finding myself looking back over 15 years of visits and trying to sort through what my favorite things have been and also what could improve the park in both my eyes and the eyes of the general public (who normally don't observe details as closely as us enthusiasts do! ;-) ) this is in no way comprehensive but these are simply a few things that could improve the park in my opinion.

better shows - when pki originally opened in the 70's they established themselves not only as a park with great rides but also as a park with great shows. they offered high quality-broadway esque style shows that were multi sensory but also very high budget. "the festhaus" used to house an incredible ice show and "the paramount theatre" used to house the "headlining show" for the entire park. if pki could reestablish themselves as a park with not only great rides but great shows then i think they would find themselves attracting a whole different crowd demographically.....which is ultimately a great thing in park management's eyes. perhaps pki could refer to other parks that utilize high quality/high budget shows in order to see how they need to do it....a few parks come to mind: cypress gardens in FL and busch gardens williamsburg in VA...both of these parks have AMAZING shows that pack in the crowds!

onto the most talked about addition:.....it is true....pki really needs a nonlooping large steel coaster to round out their coaster selection. i too would love to see this in the woods around wwc or waterworks but i doubt you'll ever see that because of the cost of land clearing...but i do think that the idea of having the coaster station start out around the old dolphin show complex would be cool.....have the lift facing towards the back of the park and then have it dive down over the pond....cross the path back to rivertown and them have some unique elements take place where the old antique cars used to be....hmm that has some real potential. as far as manufacturers are concerned...honestly b&m would be a great match for pki because it would diversity themselves from cp or sfwoa but i wouldn't mind seeing a morgan hyper either...morgan really knows how to build an incredible hyper coaster....phantom's revenge just simply blew my mind....but so did nitro @ sfgadv :-)

so the debate will continue.....but those are the two areas of improvement that i believe are most important to the financial & physical growth of pki as one of the nation's best amusement parks.

Hum....my dream is that they tear down dullsville and start all over. This time they model the park similar to Disney's parks. I like the themeing with Tomb Raider. It is just ashamed that the beautiful work is surrounded by a bunch of smut. Or maybe take the other way and have all roller coasters with SOME flats like CP.

One question...... what's dullsville? And also if PKI had "all rollercoasters with SOME flats like CP," then it'd be CP. And Ohio doesn't need another one. Another thing I'd like to point out is Disney and CP aren't alike at all. So I don't know how this could be done....

O.K. So what? What is wrong with two parks being similer? Nothing. They will both have different roller coasters so they aren't that alike.

Disney and Ceder Point aren't alike at all.....no freaking crap! That is why I said you could go the opposite way. Re-read!

From the way you stated it, it seemed to me that you wanted the park to be both. And IMO Disney and CP fail in comparison to PKI.

Here we go again. Resist feeding the troll. What ever you do, just don't feed the troll. Don't even ASK EminEm (if that IS his real name) to explain his answer. He's made the first negitive comment on this very nice thread.

It apparent by his smart mouth that Eminem just wants someone to argue with him.

Hey, dexter, at least PKI FANATIC isn't closed minded. Thank you PKI FANATIC for not being closed minded. Because most people on this board are closed minded but not you.

Yeah, a nagative comment automatically takes the place of fighting words? ::rolls eyes::

See, I said that they should make their park like Disney. Then I said take the other way and make it like CP. You said it yourself, they are not a like so that is the reason for "the other way."

I will only feed the troll a little.

Smart mouth. Please play nice.

Thanks for the thoughts about PKI dreams and visions. Looks like the general consensus is that a hyper is highly desired. I sure hope someday that dream can come true.

I also love the idea of putting it in the WWC area. I agree that the Rivertown side of the park is crying our for a large steel coaster. But PKI likes to spread new attractions out, so I am not so sure we will see coasters crossing over other rides and other coasters anytime soon.... but again, we can always dream.

On a seperate note, JBeast... I was amazed to see your response.... long time no post!

I was wondering what a terrain 4D throught the woods behind TR would be like. I could see PKI getting a 4D of some sort, I don't don't why though. A B&M hyper is likely for some area in the park, but I think an Intamin isn't really PKI. That's just my opinon though.

I wish they would stop thinking that they have to impress "all of the family" all of the time. If they keep adding flats rides, and less coasters, they could very well lose some of their spark. All the coasters there are good, but they need another one sometime soon. I always thought that an Arrowbatic would go perfectly in the KC spot, but I guess not for PKI. Maybe PKI is holding put until 2004. I am going to bet that that's when they'll get the next coaster.

To have a huge B&M in the middle, where the unused antique cars are... a coaster that could be approached from all angles... would be incredible.

Unused antique cars? The line for the antique cars is longer than the line for Vortex 95 percent of the time. It's longer than the line for Beast half the time even.

Of course, the capacity isn't as high as the coasters, but people are willing to wait for it.

I love these ideas. I'd say that, judging on the past, they will get something big in 2004. If they don't, that will make it 4 years in a row without a big new coaster. That would be absurd. As for what type... it HAS to be a record breaker. You don't wait 3 years and come out with something that you can't brag about loudly and proudly: "we have the tallest" or "we have the longest." Take your pick.

What I would like to see is a hyper coaster that is the longest steel coaster in the world. It would probably be less expensive and have a longer lasting record than the tallest in the world. And it's just as much bragging rights. It would likely be much more fun ride than the tallest, too. Imagine: a two mile long coaster. Imagine being able to brag (translate advertise) about that.

Ohio - Coaster capital of the world

Den was referring to the fact that for 3 seasons the Rivertown side of the Antique cars has not been operational... only the Coney side. That is what he meant by unused.
