Most new coasters ridden in one year

this was the biggest year for me of the 3 years of being an enthusists. i hit 47 new coasters, at 7 new parks, and only spent $500. also my most efficient year. how did you guys do this year.

I rode 2 new coasters TTD and Super Man at Six Flags Great ADventure. I got to 3 new parks. KennyWood, SFDL, and PKD. Last year was my big year. I hit 11 parks.

I count 27 this year (a record for me), and 6 new parks. That will become 29 and 8 come Tuesday of next week.

I hit three new and my home park this season (my second as an enthusiast) and rode 19 new coasters.

I hit 3 new parks and 20 new coasters. New parks are SFGAm, SFKK and HW.

You can count 91 coasters but you can't count the parks they were in? Normally there are fewer parks than coasters. :)

36 new coasters in 10 new parks.

More importantly, that brings my "Schmeck Count" to 9 out of 12 with the addition of Comet (Great Escape) and Yankee Cannonball.

This was my best year as well. I hit 40 new coasters in 10 new parks. I hit a grand total of 19 parks this year. I also managed to hit all of the major Disney parks in the country this year.

October 28, 2003--Nickelback in concert with Trapt in Akron!

Well, I did a huge theme park tour in the Mid-West USA (I live in England!) so hit a lot of new parks! SFGAm, IB, HW, SFKK, PKI, CP, SFWOA, Kennywood, SFDL, Marineland. Around 60 new coasters... Oh and Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park, back home. It's been a great year!!

Had a pretty good year. Got 93 new coasters at 16 new parks. I think I hit around 24 parks total for the year.

19 new coasters for me this year, at 4 different parks, which is not bad considering I'm only 16 years old. Plus Kennywood and Cedar Point( Dragster being the only new coaster for this year I've ridden) which I've already been to.

Does anybody know off hand which year saw the largest number of new coasters built? 1997 perhaps?

In 1999 there were 62 new coaster installations (give or take) in North America. I believe that's the most.

1997 had around 24.

I do believe 1999 was the peak of the coaster "boom"

1996 - 26 (marked the first time more than 20 new coasters were built in North America in one year)
1997 - 24
1998 - 38
1999 - 62
2000 - 50
2001 - 36

EDIT - Not sure about 2002 or 2003 stats. The numbers above were something I just had lying around (sadly :( )
