most intense helix

what ride do you think has the most intense helix?

-------------
Westside!!!
Definately Goliaths, nothing comes close to it!
Superman at SFNE has two very intense helices. It does seem that Goliath will probably win out this topic though, but I can't say since I haven't ridden it.

I would say that B:TR at SFStL has an extremely intense helix, located right after the 2nd loop. The g's this helix pulls are unbelievable.

Runaway Mountain at SFOT, they are short [and extremely tight] yet sweet.

#1 is easily Goliath, "honorable mention" goes to The Beast.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
The helix on Medusa East is sweet, you dive into quickly and then fly out of it. But I can't wait for the helix on NITRO, that thing looks intense, especially since Claude Mabillard said at the press release that that NITRO's helix will pull 4.5 g's throughout the whole helix!

Here is a link to awesome pics of the helix:

This isn't a major coaster, but the Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa has an intense triple helix.

Sorry but this has been bugging me: What the hell are "helicies"?!? (He-lah-sees) It's helix(es). Get it right people.

Although I haven't ridden it, I would say that Goliath has the most intense "helicies" ;).

I thought both helixes and helices were both correct terms?? Anyway, I think Raptor's and Scorpion's are intense.

Uh, "helices" - spelled correctly in themeparkne's post without the second "i" - is the proper plural form of helix (although helixes is also used). Apology accepted on behalf of themeparkne.

I've ridden The Beast over 100 times and I still get more scared going down that hill into the helix than anything but the drop on MF. Very intense. I'm mad that Goliath was closed for rehab the day I went. There's the bad thing at the off-season.
I love the good old Schwarzkopf helixes like on the Lazer, and sooperdooperlooper. Fast, tight and intense.

The double helix on twister at Knoebels is pretty good as well. Nothing can beat the enterance to the first helix in the first car second seat.

If anybody is looking for one of the roughest helix's: American Eagle! Sure, it's one of my favorite rides, but man, 4 or 5 re-rides in a row! WOW! On the trip back into the station on the last ride, it seemed like there were birds and stars everywhere!

Rest In Peace, SKY WHIRL...
Of all the rides I've been on, I would have to say the Beast. I wish I could ride Goliath, though. I give honorable mention to the Raptor.

Coasters...the best natural buzz available.
SKY WHIRL is right, although I must point to the Eagle's earlier years. Now it is braked at the top of the helix, so you rarely experience what this ride was known for. It was an incredible change in speed, and by the time you flew out of it, you were moving at a really good clip. That meant unbelievable air in the front on the way back!

I also recommend the Legend to anyone that hasn't been on a tight, fast, mostly UN-banked double helix! Those Gerstlaur trains are something else!

"Just looking at the horrible badly needed paint job on Vortex (PKI) makes me feel sick!"
For the love of God, PAINT IT!
Goliath is KNOWN to have re-difined the helix experience. 'The Centrifuge'! It's "plaster you to your seat fun"! Of course everyone knows about the numerous (and common) gray outs and near black outs during the Goliath helix finale. And not even the BUFFEST man alive could raise his hands straight up during the duration while the train is maneuvering it. This is serious stuff folks. :)

GOLIATH

Shivering Timbers has an excellent helix at the end.
