I keep saying I'm going to do this. But, every year I look at it and say, huh? I don't even know where to begin.

I did it one year. It's just not fun anymore.
But I still give best wishes to those who want to give it a try.

It's deceptively simple and, once you have a ballot finished, updating it each year takes a few minutes at most.
With that said, I'm not sure if I'll actually find a few spare minutes this year.
Yeah, but regardless of who wins this year, I doubt that it will be statistically significant. :) ;)
It may be simple to fill out, but I still have no interest in ranking coasters.
I guess I should turn in my geek card, huh? :)
Coaster Fanatics has a really great web app which helps organize and create your ballot.
I am debating whether to do the poll this year because my ballot from last year was on my computer that crashed and since I didnt ride any new coasters this year I not thinking it is worth it, but this is my favorite poll.

That's what I thought before I actually did it. The problem is that Mitch's instructions make it seem more difficult that it is. It's easy, and if you use an Excel spreadsheet for your ballot you can just reopen it the following year and revise. (others have already responded with similar advice).
It's that time of year! Maybe we can get through the steps even faster since we've had so much practice:
1. "Mitch's poll is up."
2. "I keep meaning to do it but it's too hard/complicated/lengthy."
3. "It's not that hard, use a spreadsheet."
4. "It's not that hard, use the web app."
Now all we need is
-Three or four posts complaining about the poll by people who don't understand how it works
-Accusations of cheating/ballot stuffing
-Be-yotching about TPR swinging the vote
-Coaster X is "too high" or "too low" ad nauseum
-"The only list I care about is my own"
-"At least it's better than the Golden Tickets"
Wash, rinse, repeat. :) Any I'm forgetting?

Just the sarcastic post by a long time buzzer trying to be funny by running down some stereotypical comments for how these threads normally go each year.
...and then the post by some jerk pointing it out. ;)
(I kid because I love)

That was a first though! Not a trend. ;) Yet.
This might be a subparagraph to the other complaints, but there's the "how could a coaster that so few have ridden be ranked so high?" gripe.
^I thought that was a subsection of the paragraph about TPR (see: Balder, Ex GeForce, Eagle's Fortress, T-Express). ;)
It's completely understandable to me, and doesn't really require a "conspiracy" for a hard-to-get ride to be ranked so high. There are a TON of factors at play when it comes to ranking, conscious and subconscious, and "I made a tremendous effort to ride a fabulous coaster" would inevitably play a part...
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
Ok, so I'm attempting to do the poll. I am following the instructions on his site. When I pasted the text into Excel, none of the columns are separated like he shows them. All the information is in Column A. Am I doing something wrong?
<edit>
Never mind. I'm not very versed in spreadsheets. I figured it out using the import wizard.

Allow me to be the one to complain about how ugly the website is, and how voting by email using text files is so 1996.
Ok, it is easier than it looks. Though it will still be a bit time consuming. I've gotten off to a good start.
