Missouri governor takes spin on Wildfire, says "fantastic"

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Not all politicians are stupid when it comes to roller coasters. Missouri's governor Bob Holden got three laps on Silver Dollar City's new Wildfire, a B&M looper, and said it was "fantastic." The governor used the opportunity to talk about the importance of tourism and a good highway system.

Actually, us Whigs have the most fun :)
This doesnt surprise me because we have been seeing commercials here in the Chicago area for tourism in Missouri. Most of the commercial shows footage of rollercoasters. Personally I think its great because amusement parks do attract tourists and the fact that this state(Missouri) is geographically the center of the country only makes sense to promote it. Ohio, move over, their is a new sheriff in town(JUST JOKING!!!!!!)

I saw a clip of wildfire running on the news last night and I live in so. cal!! It looks pretty cool though!

Greens all the way! Back on topic, it is nice to see a coaster built in the past year open on time!

Ah yes Disney. I'm still having a hard time putting them and high-tech thrills together. 2Hostyl what I meant was that it was nice to see a picture of a 2001 operating coaster. To the best of my knowledge, no one has reported seeing Hypersonic XLC operating yet.
To Dustijn Hollon:

Where is Miner Mike's and Buster's? I've never heard of that. Is the mine train a good mine train or is it a kiddie ride. I see that you listed ACME Powered Roller Ride. I wouldn't really consider that a coaster in Missouri to ride because...well...I can't. Anyway, I was going to try and ride every roller coaster that I could in Missouri, but have never heard of this Runaway Mine Train. More info please. Thanks.
