Chuy's is really good as far as Tex-Mex goes, even if they are expanding at a pretty rampant pace. I haven't noticed that they've steered too far away from the original product that you could get at their super cool location at Barton Springs in Austin.
Fort Worth probably has a better reputation for BBQ than Dallas. You can't go wrong with Railhead - good food, cold beer, and a huge happy hour social scene. A couple of the legendary rural BBQ joints like Cooper's and Hard 8 have opened locations in D/FW. Some of the outlying suburbs around Fort Worth feature really good BBQ as well.
If you want Texas style BBQ, steer clear of Red, Hot, and Blue. It's more Memphis style, although I would say it's been mutated over the years to conform more with the preferences of people in this area.

FT is a great park that's worth the drive (well, given that I live in Fort Worth and it and Sea World are the only decent parks in driving distance). You could definitely spend a day there (they have great shows apparently...I've never been a show watcher) between the rides, the atmosphere, and Iron Rattler.
When a beautiful girl singing Motown songs comes over and snuggles up to me.....that's a great show! ;~P
Hopefully NTG and IR will reopen by then. I'm was planning a road trip that same weekend but because of the horrific events of late I may cancel.
IIRC, when Bizarro (S:RoS at the time) had a fatal ejection it was closed for the rest of the season and didn't open until the trains could be modified. I would be surprised if the same thing didn't happen here (though I'm also surprised that Outlaw Run didn't stop operation at all, but I guess it's different trains).

We booked for SFFT/SFoT a couple days before the accident. We're going...
Also, thinking that it may be a little different than the RoS incident...TX is a long long way from MA, in more ways than one...
We had the dates set but hadn't booked airfare for our September Texas trip. We've already booked elsewhere since the accident... we'll get out there next year when this all calms down.
I hope they get them running for you guys that are going.
To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them".
Chuy's is really good, especially their chicken tortilla soup (wow, it wasn't burritos this time).
Does anyone know if they are planning on making any modifications to the restraints or anything for NTaG? Is IR being affected in any way?
I don't think I'll be allowed to go out to SFFT for a long time. :( It'll be a really long time till I get on any coaster after my parents saw NTaG on CNN.
I've got non-refundable airfare tickets, so I'm still going. Wishing I had waited 2 days to buy them, cuz then I wouldn't have bought them at all. Probably my top 3 reasons for this trip are NTG, Iron Rattler, and Titan. Crossing my fingers for a speedy investigation and resolution.
NTAG is an acronym Robb Alvey is trying to make happen. He's literally banning people on his site that question it.
I got banned from TPR's YouTube for disagreeing with Robb about something. He is very stubborn and egotistical. He also has 1,500+ coaster credits. I don't post barely ever at TPR, and I don't want an account there anymore. It's a stupid website. I think I'll mention the NTAG thing to him.
Tyler, stay on topic. You don't have to start Alvey bashing in every thread.
What just happened? Tek bashes egoman. Tyler follows up with his egoman bash. Tek tells Tyler to stay on topic? Tyler agrees and apologizes? lol

I answered someone's question, I didn't bash him. And this was Tyler's second attempt in just a short time at trying to bash him. Tyler's response had nothing to do with the thread or even with my response.
We actually were both talking about how Robb bans too quickly. I brought up NTAG on TPR and was banned within five minutes last night. I'm not bashing, I'm just stating the facts.
I think we should have a coasterbuzz rule to never use NTAG. :-P
I think we should have a Coasterbuzz rule that we don't care at all about what any other website does and we certainly don't need to define ourselves against anyone else.
