Ok, I just got back from MIA. They have that whole corner roped off with security. Surrounding the ride is a makeshift fence of plywood about 7 or 8 feet high. The bottom half of the ride is covered in tarp. To get a better look we went on the log ride which goes right by it, so we could look down over the plywood. I saw many mechanics there, along with some pieces of fiberglass against the walls in many colors just in pieces. The pieces look really bad, so I would hate to see what is under that tarp. There is no way they can salvage this ride. Besides the hidden damage, all of the carts that had people in were totally ripped apart; the metal bar and the shoulder harnesses were not there, just empty shells. The interesting thing was, that the park was busier than ever. Maybe people just wanted to take a look, I don't know. in the local paper it showed a diagram of how it happened. It became disconnected from the arm and fell to the ground still in the vertical position, so the bottom cars got scrunched. The two worst injuries were a dad and his son who were trapped on the bottom, scrunched up for many hours. Well, that is all I have, hopefully pieces can start to come together.
