Metrozoo has hatched a mammoth plan to become a different breed of zoo. But it will take more than simple animal attraction. The zoo got unanimous approval from the Miami-Dade County Commission Thursday for an ambitious master plan that would turn the 731-acre compound into a theme park-like hybrid over the next two decades. Estimated cost over the 20-year stretch: $350 million, which will have to be cobbled from public and private funds.

Sweet I go out to Miami a lot, and can't always go up to Orlando, but now I can go to the Miami amusement park!!!! I hope they build a PTC woodie.
10 bucks bets they'll build a B&M stupid floridans and your BEEMERS
Joe, who's jealous that PKI doesn't have one over 30 years.
Joe, trade you two Beemers (and I'll even throw in one of these pervasive mice)....for Beast, SoB, Screechin' Eagle, or even PKI's Racer....shoot, we need some other steel too, so I'll also accept FoF, anything Intamin...(Drop Zone(?), shoot, I'll take Maggie or even Vortex....the point is: "Read my lips, No New Beemers...."....;) *** This post was edited by rollergator on 7/15/2002. ***

I love roller coasters, and I need psychiatric help. Or a roller coaster.
FP....couldn't agree more.....the bummer is that it's almost a 6-hour drive to the best woodie in FL.....and it just KEEPS getting better....
bill, wondering when someone's gonna pick up that other CoasterWorks' project at the astoundingly reasonable price of 500K....
From the article:
"How about a safari ride aboard a Land Rover for an up-close look at gazelles, rhinos and zebras?"
Hmmmmmm... Think I've heard this somewhere before. Watch it in those turns!!

Miami is not a zoo. It is one of the easiest foreign countries for American's to visit! The only thing more ridiculous than the City is the politics.
That said, the MetroZoo would be a great place to build on a South Florida theme park concept. South Florida is probably one of the biggest metro areas without a theme park...Orlando being 3.5 hours away. I hope it works out.
