MF: Me thinks its time for a love thread

HurricanGeauga:

That may be your personal opinion but i beg to differ. Uncreative doesnt fit it at all. And overbanked turns were the point of the ride if you didnt catch that when they announced it.

Anyway, its gotta be my favorite coaster, Hulk is up there, but MF still beats it. Awsome airtime, speed, and the OB turns are awsome. Should be number one for years to come.

HurricaneGeauga: Why did you even post in this thread? It's not the MF hate thread.

Millennium force is the greatest coaster ever created. sure, there are those who don't think so, but dammit, I sure as hell think it is! That drop is amazing! The airtime is insane, the speed is unbelieveable, and the layout is perfect. Gotta love a coaster that has no mid-course and hits the final brakes at 60 mph.

Theres only one bad part about Millennium Force, and thats not being able to ride it all year round.

Well, I'll just sum it up like this: I have tons of pictures of coasters that I've taken over the years and the ONLY ones I bothered to frame are a couple of those I took of Millennium Force. They are framed and sit atop my desk and I glance at them very often throughout the day. I can't get enough of this ride and it seems like a life-altering experience every time I ride it. I'll definately never forget my first experience on it. But that's another entire thread I suppose. ;)

Pearl Jam + Roller Coasters = Heaven on Earth. :)

Ever since I went to CP last year, I havent stopped thinking about the next time(this summer) I can take a 9 hr drive to get on it a few more times. This coaster does get knocked more than it should, IMO MF blows away any other coaster out there. The thing that amazed me about it, was how it kept gaining speed, and never lets up. And so many say there is no airtime, I guess I must have been on another ride, because one of those hills(2nd or 3rd I forget) give the strongest ejector air i've felt sofar. Alot of people say SROS in SFNE is better, I'll be riding that in a week, but I can't see how it could be better!!! ALL HAIL MF!!!!

Since this is a "love thread," I'm going to keep my comments limited to what I love about MF: the awesome first drop...possibly the most incredible and awe-inspiring coaster element out there. Just the combination of the height, the view, the ever-steepening track, and (if you're sitting in the back), the freaky ejector airtime that comes from starting your descent already at 13 mph! Just absolutely amazing...the speed throughout the course is great, too.

I get the feeling there's a conspiracy over at King's Island to remove anything that has "K" or "C" in its initials.

MILLENNIUM FORCE is the BEST COASTER EVER, and probably the best that will ever be.

Sorry, but I don't have time for those that may disagree. If you don't love MF more than life itself, then please just go away.

Though Magnum is still number 1 to me, there is a reason I have this name.

If Millennium Force and X were side by side which one would you ride?
Both. It's apples and oranges. Both are great.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to drag X into this. MF is a speed coaster, X is something all new and *totally* different.

For what Millennium Force does, it does it brilliantly. And that is blazing speed from beginning to end. No midcourse brakes, no trims, Intamin really lets you *feel* it without interruption, without commercial breaks. ;)

And they start it off with a drop that slays you. Great ride!

Well said, DWeaver.

I think one ride in 9-2 will get you hooked on this coaster for life. That has got to be one of the most amazing air time experiences I have ever had. The front is great for the view, but the back has the power.

People who complain about the lack or air miss the purpose of the ride. It's all about speed, and does it ever deliver! The OBs were a new concept, and I think people fail to understand that sometimes. Building MF was quite ambitious for CP at the time. I can only imagine what would happen had they not taken that chance...

-----------------
At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs.

DWeaver I see where your coming from, even though you can't choose between them, in July when they pick the top 25 rollercoasters again from amusement today people are going to have to choose between them. But you were right about draging X into it I shouldn't of done it since it was just for Millennium Force. So I guess I'll give my thoughts on Millennium force. Its a great ride maybe the best rollercoaster ever made, but I cant compare it to Raptor or The Hulk because that would be like comparing apples and oranges. But over all Millennium Force is Great.
The bottom line about those lists though is they mean absolutely nothing. No one is going to change their travel plans based on a list. And if one park builds the worlds greatest coaster, no other place more than a few hours away is going to lose any buisness to them.

Thank You

Wow I think I heard all of this back in 2000 when the ride mattered.

Although some of you have most likely heard this, here is a site to download the MF Theme (doodoodoodoodoodoodoodoo) Remix. Truly awesome!

This seems like a pretty darn pointless thread. I'm surprised it's still here.

But, while it is I'll voice my opinion. MF is a speed demon and if that's what you're looking for, it delivers in spades. If you're looking for air or real intensity, you're better off with Maggie or Goliath. But I I really wanted the feeling of going 90 MPH, I'd just hop in a convertible car. Airtime ain't that easy to come by.

AC?, RB?, MF?, DD?, PR? Who can keep track of it all?
