Sounds to me like you're already drinking the Debbie Downer Kool-Aid, and that's the problem.

My snarkiness was a reaction to you defining my perspective on the world for me back there on page 2.

I agree that there certainly seems to be a subset of people who are still frantic about the terrorists/Muslims and are more than happy to give up their rights (and mine) to ward off some perceived threat.

While I don't think it's a major impact on every day life, I certainly keep an eye out for that kind of stuff simply for the "slippery slope" implications it has. Americans have given up a lot of rights in the past decade out of irrational fear. Anyone who's studied history knows what happens when cultures become ruled by fear.
