Member Limit

Is there a limit as to how many members the site will take as there are so many new posts everyday? It's pretty hard to read all the post and have to ignore two day old unread posts. In that case, how about splitting up General Buzz into more specific forums i.e. coasters, parks, thrill rides, rumors, new for 2001, etc etc. It might make things easier for us.

The member count could grow over 10,000! When did this site first open? And what is the rate of increase in members? It was about 1950 when I joined a few months ago.

I have been considering post quotas as a feature for the next version of POP Forums for some time now. I tend to agree that there are times when a new member gets a little post crazy!

As far as splitting up the general, I'm not sure that it's very easy to clearly classify the topics. I've thought a little bit about having an exclusive "gold" member forum, where people could pay to have access, but I'm not sure that anyone would ever pay for that.

Well, what would the benefits be?

I'm a little post crazy am I not? :-) I sincerely apologise for that. I'm on a coasting high, shows you how addicted I am at the moment. BTW, I go "post crazy" like once in a while then burn out and just read. Up and down, up and down, just like a rollercoaster!!

How about members gain access to a "Silver" forum after 6 months since first joined. Then "Gold" after a year.

Would you consider a member's picture section as a benefit for paying? Or is that too much work?

Another suggestion is the ability to click "NEW!" to "NO" rather than use the mark posts features. Or have this done automatically when clicking on a topic with new posts.

I don't really think you should make people pay for a certain forum. I don't have a credit card, personally and my parents would probably find out if I mailed some cash to someone they don't know.
