Member for a day?

Rctycoon2k's avatar
Although I am already a club member, so it really doesn't apply to me, I was wondering...

On this day, will the user be able to change their "style" of CB, and be able to add coasters to their track record? If so, will these settings stay?

Just a quick question from someone who is pretty bored on a Monday night... ;)

Yes and no. If you aren't a club member, the style doesn't kick in at all. Track record I haven't decided, but probably no.

I must have missed something... Member for a Day? Not that it applies to me (already a member) but I am curious.
Look at the home page, Rob...
Ah, c'mon, let us cheap ass "members" update our track records. I've been stuck on 120 coasters for two years now, LOL!

OMG, I'm a CreHo.

Yeah, I'm blind! ;)
Bassististist,

Join the Club! Your situation brings up an interesting point though. Perhaps letting people add track records for a day could influence people to join the club in the future. If I was not a member, and had started a track record, I would pay to be able to keep editing it. Of course, this would only apply to the non "cheap ass 'members.'"

Guess who's back? Back Again? James K's back. Tell a friend.

I'm a member and I've never added a thing to my track record.

Works both ways, I guess.

If they do have a record will they be able to rate the rollercoasters 1-10?

well, seeing that that is not a current option for members, I can say will full certainty that, no, you won't be able to do that, GF01...
I keep my track record just for braggin rights... look at all the coasters I've ridden but you haven't! ;)

Actually, I keep my own list because there are a few defunct and traveling coasters that aren't in the CBuzz database... I am really at #200 thanks to the Williams Grove Cyclone! But listing them on Coasterbuzz is fun too.

Actually, redman, that is an option for current members.

Although you don't have a listing of #1, #2, etc., you can toggle the different tracks in your record up and down the list. You can move the rides in to whatever position you want, so you could theoretically put them in the order of your favorites. (Granted, this would be time consuming if you've been on 400 coasters...)

I'll just stick with sort-by-park myself. I'm too indecisive to pick a #1. I like too many too much.

Hi

Actually guys that was not what I meant. What I meant was can the people who are members for a day rate the rides and effect that rides rating like I believe MF has a 9.7 in Coaster buzz rating. Now with like 156 votes can their vote count.

You don't need to be a club member to rate coasters. You only need to be logged in.

Do you need to be a club member to not see the ad for the member for a day event?
Rctycoon2k's avatar
Nope, I still see it and I am a club member. It's kind of like the events listings, it's always there.

And I'm tired of hearing you complain about it. If it bothers you, send me your membership card back before CoasterMania and I'll give you your money back.

Hearing me complain? I am not complaining, nor have I been complaining.

I don't mind these things, and I don't see the purpose of complaining about the voting ad when it serves a legitimate purpose.

My .02, although no one cares.

How can the banner for the "Member for a day" thing be considered an advertisement? It is promoting something on the site so I'd think it qualifies as site news. An advertisement would be something directing you to another site, not Coasterbuzz.
