Manhattan Express.....whats the deal?

im not really sure about desperado, i rode magnum and i've been pretty much scarred for life and im not too willing to ride another arrow hyper, because on magnum i got really bad bruises on my legs because of the extreme nature of its horrible "ejector" air, so im not too willing to go on desperado.  but i will ride ME and definately will ride speed.  again, thanx for all your guys' help!!
Dude, TOGO does not mean BAD!  I rode it, and it was my favorite coaster of all time, however that changed when I rode V2 and AC.  But if your there, it is awesome how it goes from inside of the hotel to out.  Yeah the price is steep, but if you fly and take Sun Country, they hand out coupon books for buy one get one free so it's basically 5 dollars.  Look for coupons.  Believe me it's one not to miss!
It's a mild head banger, far from the worst that I have ridden.  I didn't find it a particularly entertaining ride, but like every coaster, you should experience it yourself.  The setting is fantastic, and it is probably worth the price just to ride a coaster in that setting.  I can also say this:  "It's the best Togo I've ever ridden."
In my opinion, ME has a very poor layout and is an overall bad coaster. First off, the trains are horrible with the TOGO torture restraints that are soo weird looking and limit any kind of airtime. The ride features a 200+ foot lift hill yet it does not feature any drops that even come close to that hieght. The pacing is slow and uneventful, in my opinion. To make matters worse, it is super rough. I enjoy headaches more!!!! It is also super expensive. When I went, the ride had only been open for six months or so, but it was still $7 or $8 to ride and was rough!!!
The worst thing about the ride, New York, New York could not make up their mind with theming. The station looks to resemble a NY subway station, but the trains look more like taxis than subways??? Whats up with that???
Your money will be better spent riding Speed: The Ride at the Nascar Cafe in the Sahara Hotel. An all day Speed pass is cheaper than one ride on ME and is better and smoother.

Matthew, how do you figure out that an all day pass on Speed is cheaper than ME? I went two weeks ago, one ride on ME was $10, Speed was $8 for two rides.

I actually thought ME was quite good. Yes, the transitions are bad, but the ride was not as rough as an Arrow looper. The restraints are wierd but so what. The dive loop is awesome. The price is disgusting but look for coupons. Yes, it is the best TOGO coaster, but considering how bad the others are that doesn't say much.

And as for Desperado. I first rode it in the front seat in 1996 and thought it was great. I rode it this year in the back seat and it was EVIL. When the train came into the station they were checking the wheels and offered a free re-ride - no thanks!

Speed is pretty cool, but Mr. Freeze is better.

Grant:  You caught my meaning.
My one and only experience on Desperado was in late August.  I rode in the front because I had heard that it was a little rough.  The train shook throughout the whole course.  It wasn't a mild shaking that one could overlook.  If the trains were designed differently, it could make for a nice massaging effect.  The airtime was cool.  I just could have done without the massive shaking.
I think they should call it the Pepsi coaster... anybody who has been on it knows why... :-P

Alan Jacyszyn

hmmmm, no i dont know why it should be called a "pepsi" coaster, fill me in....

t h e r e s a monkey in my pocket and he stealing all my change, his stare is blank and glassy i suspect that hes diranged.....
UGH!!! You just had to put that unpleasant memory back into my head didn't you? Everybody else that has posted pretty much hit the nail on the head: the drops are small compared to the lift, the vertical loop, helixes, and hills are rough, and I can rattle off a giant list of inversions that I find more interesting than the twist n' dive. I can't even say its the best TOGO, as I perfer Shockwave at PKD (Old stand-up).

-Wesley (whose opinion you may want to disregard, as he perfers the Jackrabbit to the Thunderbolt, and thinks that ME  is the only ride worse than Hulk)

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the restraints. I remember leaving my shoulder restraint a little loose when I rode it and i had just incredible airtime. But then I was only 14 at the time.

SLOUCH UP AND HAVE THEM ON YOUR SHOULDERS, THAN WHEN THE RIDE STARTS SLOUGH DOWN, AND THEY WONT EVEN TOUCH YOU. THEY DONT COME DOWN DURING THE RIDE, TERY WILL STAY IN THE POSITION AS THEY WERE IN THE STATION. MY 1ST RIDE BASICALLY FELT LIKE I HAD ONLY A LAP BAR, THE OTSR WERE SO HIGH FROM MY SHOULDERS. THE ROUGHEST PART IS RIGHT BEFORE THE LOOP. THE ENDING WHEN YOU DROP IS VERY WEIRD, AS THERE ARE A LOT OF BREAKS AND ITS A DROP THAN YOU HIT THE BREAKS. THAT HEARTLINE ROOL IS SURELY AMAZING! IF YOU CAN BRACE YOURSELF, AND HAVE THEM LOOSE, IT WILL BE A FUN RIDE! BEST RIDE IN VEGAS IS SPEED, 2 RIDES FOR 8 BUCKS, AND IF YOU STAY AT THE SARAHARA ITS 5 DOLLORS OFF ALL DAY RIDE, SO THAT 18-5=13 FOR ALL DAY!GO ON DESPERADO AS YOU GO ON THAT, YOU GET A BUY ONE GET ONE FREE ON ME. ME IS WAY BETTER THAN DESPERADO, BUT YOU SHOULD TRY DESPERADO. CANYON BLASTER IS FUN, BUT WAY TO SHRT FOR 5 DOLLORS. HIGH ROLLER IS A NICE VIEW, BUT OUT OF THE 2 GO ON THRILL SHOT.
