MAJOR RCT2 Problems..

Well, I will try holding down shift but on XP when you do that some Sticky Keys thing comes up. My PC is less than a year old, so I don't think it would be out of date.

Ok, here's what the guy at infogrames told me. First, update video drivers. Second, go to www.via.com.tw and download something called 4n1 (??)...I still haven't figured this one out, lol. In fact, that part may be just for my computer, maybe other people won't need to do that, I'm not sure. Next, update cd drive's firmware (can ruin your CD-rom drive, so back up). Let me know if this helps anyone.

There are perfectly legal and justified reasons to copy a CD for personal use, but these moron pirates who cause massive software theft can be thanked for that.

The funny part is that the "moron pirates" have absolutely no trouble getting around this kind of problem at all. I bought this game and the load times seemed horrendous. "Probably caused by the copy protection", I thought. I'd seen the same behavoir before when trying to run Morrowind. Guess what? They use the same copy protection. I downloaded the cracked .exe that the software pirates use for they hacked copies [it disables the copy-protection] and now the game runs like a charm. I still kept the game, so I paid the money and the game didn't work -- I had to use an illegal .exe.

While I can't distribute the cracked file [that would be illegal] I will suggest using it as a method to correct your problem. I agree that software pirates do nothing but cause troubles for us legit users.

[PS. I kept the game and did not return it! I would hate to cheat Chris Sawyer out of his money.]

My rct2 goes good once started but after a while (15min) it gets slow when I scroll. Is it the game or me. Is there a way to make it faster
No idea. I am just looking for the no cd crack and then I will be set.

Got Coasters?

Here's the thing that worked for me (that's not illegal). On XP, just go to the control alt delete screen (system manager), click processes, sort everything by User Name, and delete everything with your user name (the name explorer.exe is under), and end everything except for explorer.exe and sysmanager.exe, and BOOM! It works with no wait (except the normal loading time). Does this work for anyone else?
Didn't with me, and I would update my video drivers except for the fact I don't know where to even begin at!

Of course, you can always edit the registry to make the necessary changes. That is all the 'no cd-crack' does, is make a change in the Windows registry. You just have to know what to do or else you could really screw things up.
CPThrills, I am having the exact same problems as you. So far, I have not been able to get the game to work properly.

I wonder if this game would even run on my AMD K6 2 400mhz 128mb ram computer...I really need a new computer...:(

Kennywood Park, America's finest traditional amusement park.

Its funny, I have a HP P4 1.8 Gig PC with Windows XP, and it works wonderfully. It takes no time to load, and boots quickly.

Maybe try updating drivers?! I dunno. Maybe a New CD Rom Drive. Maybe you just need a new PC?! ^.^

Are you putting the CD in the CD/DVD-ROM or the CD-RW ROM. I put it in the CD-RW ROM and it wouldn't run and then the drive wouldn't re-open. I just installed it on the DVD-ROM and it runs...ok. It takes 2 minutes for the game to load then another minute for a scenario to load. Very Annoying!!!
